ShowcaseYourself is seeking a hybrid Designer-Frontend Engineer to own the end-to-end user journey for web and a new mobile app. You will research, design in Figma, and translate those designs into production-ready frontend code.

You will build UI components, contribute to the mobile app frontend, and maintain a scalable design system across devices while collaborating directly with founders and a small engineering team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years combining product design and frontend development.
• Strong portfolio showing both designs and shipped code.
• Fluent in Figma: Components, Auto Layout, Variants, Prototyping, Design Systems
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus a modern frontend framework.
• Comfortable writing responsive, production-grade code.
• Strong grasp of UX research and usability.
• Mumbai-based preferred; strong candidates elsewhere will be considered.

About the Role

We're optimizing the core user journey for both talent and clients, and building our mobile app from the ground up. We're looking for someone who can own that process end-to-end - not just design the experience, but build it. You'll research, design in Figma, then translate your own designs into responsive, production-quality frontend code.

This is a hybrid role for someone who thinks like a designer and ships like an engineer. You won't be handing off files to someone else to interpret - you're the one closing that gap.

What You'll Do

Design:

• Own UI/UX design across web and the new mobile app, end-to-end
• Lead market, competitor, and user research to identify product opportunities
• Design the full talent and client journey - onboarding, profiles, discovery, search, shortlisting, call-outs, subscriptions
• Build and maintain a scalable Figma design system, consistent across desktop, tablet, and mobile

Build:

• Translate your own designs (and existing ones) into responsive, high-quality frontend code
• Build and maintain UI components that match the design system in code, not just in Figma
• Work directly in the existing web codebase to ship improvements to live user flows
• Contribute to the mobile app build from a frontend/UI implementation standpoint
• Fix UI bugs and polish issues identified in live product review

What We’re Looking For

3-5+ years combining product design and frontend development - this is a hybrid role, not two separate part-time jobs

Strong portfolio showing both designs and shipped code - marketplaces, SaaS, or consumer platforms preferred

Fluent in Figma - Components, Auto Layout, Variants, Prototyping, Design Systems

Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus a modern frontend framework

Comfortable writing responsive, production-grade code - not just prototyping in a design tool

Strong grasp of UX research, interaction design, and usability, with the ability to justify decisions with evidence

Comfortable working directly with founders and a small engineering team in a fast-moving environment

Bonus Points

• Experience with mobile app frontend development (Vue-based frameworks - or transferable mobile frontend experience)
• Experience with Flutter for mobile app development
• Experience with Laravel + Vue - matches our current stack
• Experience running usability testing
• Comfortable owning a feature fully: research - wireframe - UI - code - ship

Location

Mumbai-based candidates preferred; strong candidates elsewhere will be considered.

Monthly: 25K budget
