Job summary

SURE is seeking a design-led engineer to own product outcomes from concept to ship, collaborating in product discussions and turning insights into production-ready interfaces.

You will push designs from Figma into the live product, work closely with engineering, and uphold a high standard for details, motion, and experience. On-site in Mumbai, ESOPs may be offered.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design across flows and interactions.
• Experience partnering with product and engineering to ship outcomes, not just visuals.
• Strong visual design and interaction design, with attention to micro-interactions and polish.

Responsibilities

• Own full product outcomes for surfaces, including problem definition, roadmap tradeoffs, and post-launch success.
• Participate in product discussions as an active contributor alongside product and engineering.
• Design flows, prototypes and UI grounded in user insights and product logic at production quality.
• Translate designs from Figma into the live product, collaborating with engineers to ensure fidelity.
• Review shipped work against the intended experience and challenge anything that is not exact.
• Set and evolve the design system so the team can move faster.
• Balance craft with speed, knowing when to iterate and when to ship.

Job description

This is a design role first, and design is the bar you\'re hired on — but it\'s not a role where you hand off a Figma file and move on. You\'ll be in the room when we decide what to build, not just handed a brief after the decision is made, and you\'ll own the outcome all the way through to what actually ships. You\'ll sit in on product conversations, dig into user feedback, and develop a point of view on what the product should do — not just how it should look — and then push that work all the way into the real product, working directly with engineering so the shipped experience matches your intent down to the pixel and the transition. If you can build in code yourself, even better — that\'s a bonus, not a requirement. The arc of this role is: be part of the decision → design the solution → ship it → own how it feels in the hands of real users.

Responsibilities

• Own full product outcomes for your surfaces — not just the design, but the problem definition, the roadmap tradeoffs, and whether it actually worked once it shipped
• Sit in product discussions as a full participant, not a downstream consumer of a brief — you help decide what gets built and why, alongside product and engineering
• Create flows, prototypes and UI that are grounded in user insight and product logic, at a level of polish that holds up in production
• Get involved in implementation — take your designs from Figma into the actual product, working directly with engineers so what ships matches what you intended, detail for detail
• Review shipped work against the intended experience and push back when it\'s "close enough" instead of right
• Set and evolve the design system so the rest of the team can move faster without you in the room
• Balance craft with speed — know when a flow needs three more rounds of iteration and when it needs to ship today

What we are looking for

• You\'re a designer at heart — you think in flows, hierarchy and moments of clarity; you care about how something feels, not just how it looks
• You own product outcomes end to end — you\'ve driven a feature or product area from an open-ended problem to a shipped, working result, not just a deliverable
• You notice things others miss — a flow with one step too many, a label that creates doubt, a transition that changes how something is perceived
• You\'re curious about the why before the how — you ask questions, dig into context and push back when the brief don\'t make sense
• Comfortable with ambiguity — you can move from a rough, ill-defined problem to a considered, shipped design with minimal hand-holding
• You have an opinionated eye for detail — the kind that notices a 2px misalignment or a transition that breaks the feel of a product
• Curious about AI and already use it as part of how you think, design and build

Nice to have

• Comfortable building in HTML/CSS or React — enough to take your own designs from Figma to the actual product without waiting on a handoff
• Experience creating motion or micro-interactions with Lottie, Rive or similar
• Experience building or maintaining a design system / component library
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup, owning a product area end to end
