Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in Python and Django backend development.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Python Developer with a good foundation in Python and an understanding of backend web development usingDjango. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with REST APIs, relational databases, background task processing, and containerized applications.
This role is suitable for someone at the beginning of their professional software development career who has strong fundamentals, enjoys learning, and is interested in building reliable and maintainable backend applications.

What is the role about?

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Python and Django.
• Design and implement REST APIs, preferably using Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Work with Celery for asynchronous and background task processing.
• Understand and work with Celery brokers/backends such as Redis.
• Write basic to intermediate SQL queries and interact with relational databases.
• Work with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL through Django ORM.
• Containerize and run applications using Docker.
• Debug application issues and analyze logs to identify and resolve problems.
• Write clean, readable, reusable, and maintainable Python code.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and development practices.
• Use Git for source-code management and collaborate with other developers.
• Work closely with senior developers and other team members to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Learn and adopt new technologies and development practices as required.

• Good understanding of Python fundamentals, including:
  • Data types and data structures
  • Functions and modules
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Exception handling
  • Working with packages and virtual environments
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Django.
• Familiarity with Django REST Framework (DRF) and REST API concepts.
• Basic understanding of Celery and asynchronous/background task processing.
• Basic knowledge of Redis or similar message brokers is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Docker, including:
  • Dockerfiles
  • Building Docker images
  • Running and managing containers
  • Basic understanding of Docker Compose
• Basic knowledge of SQL, including:
  • SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE
  • WHERE clauses and filtering
  • JOINs
  • GROUP BY and aggregate functions
• Basic understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Git and basic Git workflows.
• Basic understanding of HTTP, JSON, and RESTful APIs.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug application issues.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in Python/backend development.
• Fresh graduates with relevant projects, internships, or demonstrated Python/Django experience are encouraged to apply.
