Persistent is hiring a Junior Material Planner to support global manufacturing material planning and supply chain operations. The role focuses on ensuring timely availability of raw materials and components, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining SAP-based planning accuracy.

With 2–5 years of relevant experience, you will work across procurement, logistics, and production teams in a hybrid work environment and at all Persistent locations in India.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain discipline.
• 2–5 years of Material Planning or Supply Chain experience.
• Hands-on with SAP MM or similar ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of planning, inventory control and procurement processes.

About Position:

We are seeking a Junior Material Planner with 2-5 years of experience to support material planning and supply chain operations for global manufacturing environments. The role is responsible for ensuring timely availability of raw materials and purchased components through effective planning, inventory management, supplier coordination, and SAP-based planning activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, logistics teams, and plant operations to support uninterrupted production while maintaining planning accuracy and process compliance.

What You'll Do:

• Execute material planning activities based on customer demand, production schedules, forecasts, and inventory requirements.
• Support planning and coordination of raw materials and purchased components to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
• Analyze demand data using SAP and planning tools to determine material requirements and replenishment needs.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
• Coordinate with suppliers for purchase order confirmations, shipment schedules, delivery commitments, and issue resolution.
• Track inbound logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to manufacturing locations.
• Maintain accurate planning, inventory, and procurement-related data within SAP systems.
• Identify material shortages, supply constraints, and delivery risks and escalated issues proactively.
• Support inventory reconciliation, stock monitoring, and material availability tracking activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal planning procedures, supply chain processes, and customer delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, warehouse, and production teams to improve supply chain efficiency.
• Prepare planning reports, inventory status updates, and material availability analysis.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning accuracy, inventory optimization, and operational excellence.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for material shortages and supply disruptions.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in Material Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Production Planning, or Supply Chain operations.
• Hands-on experience working with SAP MM or similar ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, procurement processes, and supply chain operations.
• Experience monitoring inventory levels, material availability, and production requirements.
• Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) concepts and planning methodologies.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers for order tracking, shipment follow-ups, and material delivery management.
• Familiarity with demand planning, forecasting, replenishment planning, and inventory optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret planning and inventory data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, Lookups, reporting, and data analysis.
• Understanding of logistics, warehousing, and inbound supply chain processes.
• Experience maintaining master data and planning information within ERP systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate supply risks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and process compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced supply chain environment.
