Job summary

KONE is seeking a Junior Engineer / Engineer - Technical Service in Bengaluru for on-site maintenance and service operations. You will ensure safety, trouble-shoot complex issues, perform first visits on new equipment, and collaborate with sales and THD for field improvements.

The role emphasizes proactive customer communication, skill development of technicians, and sharing knowledge of maintenance methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Safe working practices and carrying out operations according to maintenance and safety instructions.
• Solve complex technical issues assigned by THD.
• Perform first visits of new equipment from competitors or KONE when requested by sales/supervisor.
• Identify technical issues in equipment under maintenance that could cause call outs or safety hazards and fix issues, create sales leads and communicate to THD Manager.
• Provide feedback to repair or adjustment needs that could reduce call outs and communicate with Technical Helpdesk Manager.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of products, methods and safety by providing feedback to THD Manager.
• Plan workload in conjunction with THD Manager.
• Solve complex remote monitoring / alarm system issues assigned by THD.
• Maintain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction through quality of service and proactive on-site communication.
• Maintain excellent relationships with customers and users on site with a service mindset.
• Improve the competence of Maintenance Technicians by explaining root causes and solutions of technical issues.
• Spread knowledge of Field Letters, Express Letters and new maintenance methodologies.
• Provide training/coaching to Maintenance Technicians.
