Job summary

Motherhood Hospital Mohali invites Registrars to oversee in-patient and out-patient care in Paediatrics and Neonatology under direct supervision of consultants.

You will participate in NICU rounds, attend deliveries, manage post-natal ward, and handle emergencies and admissions with documentation and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD/DNB/DCH qualification required with 2–4 years of experience in Paediatrics and Neonatology.
• Clinical experience in Paediatrics & Neonatology with empathy and customer-centric approach.
• Critical behavioral competencies: empathy, communication, patient safety, problem solving, time management.

Responsibilities

• NICU care: manage all babies, attend daily rounds, document care plans and discharge summaries.
• Attend all in-house deliveries under supervision, admit babies for observation, complete documentation.
• Post-natal ward responsibilities: review high-risk babies, newborn examination, administer vaccines, participate in newborn screening and discharge planning.
• Out of hours: attend OPD calls and emergencies, discuss treatment plans with the on-call consultant.
• Inpatient pediatric admissions: examination, prescription, daily progress notes, discharge planning and IV cannulation if needed.

Main Objective of the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Consultant, Registrars are responsible for the in-patient and out-patient management of patients in both Paediatrics and Neonatology.

Responsibility for NICU Care, Ward cover, Paediatric Out-Patient, Theatre sessions and emergency duties.

Key Responsibilities

NICU

• Looking after all babies admitted to NICU
• Attending daily rounds
• Following the Plan for the day
• Admission and Discharge summaries to be prepared
• Clear Documentation & Communication
• To perform procedures in NICU under supervision/independently

Attending Deliveries

• To attend all in house deliveries under supervision of rostered consultant
• To admit all babies for brief supervision and observation
• Complete all documentations

Post-Natal Ward

• Review all high risk babies and follow the treatment plan
• Baby examination and documentation
• Administration of Vaccines
• New born screening participation and for supervision
• Discharge examination, documentation and follow-up plan after discussion with consultants

Out of Hours

• In addition, expected to attend all out-patient calls as well as emergencies
• Discuss treatment plan with consultant on call and follow.

Inpatient Paediatric Admission

• Examination, Checking, Prescription and Management of Paediatric Inpatient admissions after discussion with Incharge Consultant
• Documentation of daily progress and discharge
• Procedures if any including IV Cannulation

Major Job Qualifications / Specific Skills Required

Education: MD/DNB/DCH Experience 2 – 4 Years

Knowledge and Specific Skills Clinical experience in Paedtircs & Neonatology Empathy/Customer centric Required
