Job summary

Max Hospital Patparganj in Delhi seeks an Attending Consultant- NICU to support the Pediatric Department in delivering high-quality neonatal intensive care.

The role requires MD/ DNB Pediatrics or NNF Fellowship with 2–5 years post-qualification experience, and demonstrable expertise in ventilatory support, central lines, and critical care for neonates. You will participate in CMEs, teaching, and quality improvement programs within the NICU.

Qualifications

• MD/ DNB Pediatrics or NNF Fellowship.
• 2 to 5 years of post qualification experience.

Responsibilities

• Interface with patients/ attendants/ physicians to deliver high-quality NICU care.
• Deliver high quality intensive care with compassion and high responsiveness.
• Manage critically sick neonates requiring ventilation and central line placement.
• Involve in teaching and training of nursing staff, senior residents and others.
• Attend to sick babies promptly and participate in quality improvement in PICU practices.
• Follow infection control policies and biomedical waste guidelines.

Overall Objective: To assist Pediatric Department to deliver high quality neonatal intensive care in the hospital.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

• To effectively interface with patients/ attendants/ physicians and
• deliver high quality intensive care with compassion and high level
• of responsiveness.
• Post doctoral Fellows in Neonatology, recognized by Medical
• Council of India, with excellent theoretical knowledge in the
• management of critically sick newborns and preterm babies.
• Excellent practical experience in the field of Neonatology, experts
• at handling and stabilization of critically sick neonates requiring
• tertiary care in the form of ventilation, central line placement,
• organ dysfunction management etc.
• Involved in academic activities, CMEs and research aimed at
• improving the standards of care in NICU.
• Involved in overall improvement of the functioning of the NICU in the form of
• teaching of the nursing staff, senior residents and other staffs.
• To attend to sick babies in shortest possible time.
• To take decisions on patient management urgently.
• To get the admission procedure, record management and
• discharge formalities done on time.
• To participate in programs for quality improvement in PICU practices.
• To follow infection control policies and biomedical waste management guidelines the hospital.
• To collaborate with other disciplines to ensure effective and
• efficient intensive care.
• To ensure proper stock management.
• To be well groomed, punctual & adhere to company policies.
• To have complete orientation of QMS and EMS system of Hospital.
• To have complete Awareness about Disaster Management Programme (DMP) of the hospital.
• To Comply with the service quality Process, environmental & occupational issues & policies of the respective area
• To Comply with patient safety policy
• To ensure safe utilization of equipments and proper waste disposal system.

Education/Experience

MD/ DNB Pediatrics or NNF Fellowship
