Job description

The Junior Consultant - Cardiology will be responsible for supporting cardiology consultations, cardiac patient assessment, diagnostic review, treatment planning, emergency cardiac care, and patient counselling at Sri Narayani Hospital, Vellore. This requires DM or DrNB Cardiology qualification with 0–5 years of experience in cardiology services.

• Evaluate patients with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, hypertension, and cardiac symptoms.
• Conduct OPD, IPD, ICU, CCU, and emergency cardiology consultations under department protocol.
• Review ECG, 2D Echo, TMT, Holter, cardiac markers, angiography, and laboratory reports.
• Diagnose and support management of coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valve diseases.
• Plan medication, lifestyle guidance, procedure advice, and follow‑up care.
• Coordinate with cath lab, ICU, emergency, radiology, pathology, pharmacy, and nursing teams.
• Support cardiac procedures, intervention planning, and post‑procedure monitoring when required.
• Counsel patients and relatives regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate prescriptions, clinical notes, consent records, and discharge summaries.
• Respond to acute cardiac events and expedite urgent intervention needs promptly.
• Follow hospital cardiac protocols, patient safety, and ethical medical practices.
• Ensure timely, compassionate, and evidence‑based cardiology care.
