Job summary

Oceaneering India Center is seeking a Mechanical Design/Drafting engineer to prepare 3D CAD data, detailed drawings, P&IDs and related CAD data for moderate to complex assignments. You will work under limited supervision and plan your own tasks with accurate time estimates, applying drafting standards and industry codes.

The role requires 2 years of related experience, familiarity with CAD tools, and a proactive, cross-functional collaborator.

Qualifications

• B. Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 years of Design / Drafting experience.
• Familiarity with mechanical industry codes/standards (ASME, ASTM, AISC).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares 3D CAD data and detailed design/manufacturing/weldment/drawing/GA drawings, hydraulic/electrical schematics, layouts and P&IDs.
• Execute the assigned tasks within required KPI’s.
• Basic knowledge of drafting symbols and their application for tolerance, surface finish, fasteners and welded joints; guidance on non-routine problems.
• Intermediate knowledge of CAD software tools in modelling, assembly, drawing, weldment, etc.
• Able to plan own work and provide time estimates for assigned tasks.
• Basic knowledge of drafting standards governing tolerance, welding, surface finish and hydraulics symbols.

Prepares detailed design drawings, schematics, layouts, general arrangements, P&IDs and related CAD data for moderate to complex technical assignments under little supervision.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

• Prepares 3d CAD data and detailed design/manufacturing/weldment/assembly/general arrangement drawings, hydraulic/electrical schematics, layouts, general arrangements and P&IDs.
• Execute the assigned tasks within required KPI’s.
• Basic knowledge of drafting symbols and their application for tolerance, surface finish, fasteners, screw threads and welded joints. Requires guidance on non-routine problems.
• Intermediate knowledge of CAD software tool in the area of application, viz. modeling, assembly, drawing, weldment, etc.
• Able to plan his/her own work and provide the time estimation for the assigned tasks
• Basic knowledge of drafting and other standards governing tolerance, welding, surface finish, hydraulics symbols.

NON-ESSENTIAL

• Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by Management.
• Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals aligned with department and organizational objective.
• Comply to organizational HR policies and procedures.
• Should be open to travel as per business needs.
