Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its T&D Global Practice. You will work on design of overhead transmission lines, substations, distribution networks, pipelines, and industrial facilities with global projects.

Responsibilities include distribution line modelling, preparing drawings and reports, reviews, and client meetings. A 2027 batch pass-out and strong English skills are required; CAD proficiency and travel to support US projects are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade from a reputed university/institute in India.
• Candidate should be passing out as part of the 2027 batch only.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Prior internship at transmission/distribution preferred.
• Candidates who have completed CAD course will have an added advantage.
• Computer software knowledge in MS-office, Auto-Cad, MicroStation, Analysis software/ tools, Google Earth, Arc-GIS, Civil-3D.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed within the continental U.S. to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.
• Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer.
• A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, flexible.
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients.
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients both locally and worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Performing distribution line modelling, analysis and design, structural analysis and design of line poles in O-Calc, Spida-Calc and other tools.
• Preparing drawings, designs, and reports to be carried out in accordance with relevant codes of practice, standards, regulatory authorities, and clients' requirements - all under a suitable level of supervision from a senior engineer.
• Analyzing drawings and making proposals.
• Recommending modifications.
• Carrying out appropriate reviews of submissions and providing review reports.
• Participating in technical meetings with clients.
• Providing specialist knowledge input and keeping up to date with the latest developments in particular fields.
• Ensuring that all duties are carried out according to the company's quality systems.

• You'll be joining the ranks of our T&D Global practice has been providing round-the-clock support to our US offices since 2016.

• You'll report to department & functional managers work on exciting projects related to the design of overhead transmission lines, substations, underground and overhead distribution lines, NIA, industrial electrical facilities, and pipelines.

• And these projects aren't limited to a local scale; they are positioned globally,reflecting our worldwide impact.

• You'll be a part of our vibrant T&D Global Practice and work on exciting projects related to the design of overhead transmission lines, substations, underground and overhead distribution lines, NIA,industrial electrical facilities, and pipelines.
