Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Mumbai is seeking a graduate Electrical Engineer to join our T&D Global Practice. You will assist in the design of transmission lines, substations, distribution systems, and related facilities, gaining exposure to global projects.

The role emphasizes hands-on design work, familiarity with CAD tools, and collaboration with senior engineers. Fresh graduates from the 2027 batch with strong English skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination from a reputed university/institute in India.
• Candidate should be passing out as part of the 2027 batch only.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Prior internship at transmission/distribution preferred.
• Candidates who have completed CAD course will have an added advantage.
• Computer software knowledge in MS-office, Auto-Cad, MicroStation, Analysis software/ tools, Google Earth, Arc-GIS, Civil-3D.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed within the continental U.S. to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.
• Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer.
• A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, flexible.
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients.
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients both locally and worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Performing distribution line modelling, analysis and design, structural analysis and design of line poles in O-Calc, Spida-Calc and other tools.
• Preparing drawings, designs, and reports to be carried out in accordance with relevant codes of practice, standards, regulatory authorities, and clients' requirements - all under a suitable level of supervision from a senior engineer.
• Analyzing drawings and making proposals.
• Recommending modifications.
• Carrying out appropriate reviews of submissions and providing review reports.
• Participating in technical meetings with clients.
• Providing specialist knowledge input and keeping up to date with the latest developments in particular fields.
• Ensuring that all duties are carried out according to the company's quality systems.

• You'll be joining the ranks of our T&D Global practice has been providing round-the-clock support to our US offices since 2016.

• You'll report to department & functional managers, and your focus? Work on exciting projects related to the design of overhead transmission lines, substations, underground and overhead distribution lines, NIA, industrial electrical facilities, and pipelines.

• And these projects aren't limited to a local scale; they are positioned globally,reflecting our worldwide impact.
