Job summary

co_LAB Design Studio, a Mumbai-based architecture and interior design practice specializing in high-end residential interiors and architecture, is seeking a Junior Architect / Interior Designer to join the growing design team.

The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in residential design, good design sensibility, attention to detail, and the ability to translate concepts into well-resolved drawings and presentations.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating residential design work.
• Strong hand sketching and drawing presentation skills.
• Ability to translate concepts into detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing concepts, layouts, mood boards and design presentations.
• Prepare detailed working drawings and construction drawings.
• Develop furniture layouts, ceiling plans, flooring layouts, elevations and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate with senior architects, designers, consultants and vendors.
• Assist with material selections, specifications and BOQs.
• Coordinate design requirements with site/execution team.
• Attend site visits and resolve design and technical issues.
• Prepare client-facing design material and presentations.
• Ensure drawings and documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Assist in maintaining project timelines and deliverables.

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Architect / Interior Designer to join our growing design team.

The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in residential design, good design sensibility, attention to detail, and the ability to translate concepts into well-resolved drawings and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing concepts, layouts, mood boards and design presentations
• Prepare detailed working drawings and construction drawings
• Develop furniture layouts, ceiling plans, flooring layouts, elevations and detailed drawings
• Coordinate with senior architects, designers, consultants and vendors
• Assist with material selections, specifications and BOQs
• Coordinate design requirements with the site/execution team
• Attend site visits and assist with resolving design and technical issues
• Prepare presentations and client-facing design material
• Ensure drawings and design documentation are accurate and up to date
• Assist in maintaining project timelines and coordinating deliverables

Skills Required

• Strong understanding of architecture and interior design fundamentals
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD
• Proficiency in SketchUp / 3D software is preferred
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator is an advantage
• Good understanding of materials, furniture, finishes and detailing
• Strong visualisation and presentation skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
