Job summary

LOCUS is seeking a Junior Architect in Bengaluru to support landscape design and planning across scales. You will develop concept and detailed designs, prepare plans, and contribute to site planning and architectural work for residential, commercial, and urban projects.

You will assist senior team members with design drawings, 3D visuals, presentations, and client/documentation for approvals. Collaboration across architects and planners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or similar software and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for presentations.
• Understanding of sustainable design principles and climate-responsive landscapes.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and manage time effectively.

Role Description

This full-time, Junior Architect role is based in Bengaluru and supports the design and planning of landscape projects across various scales. The role involves assisting in the development of concept and detailed designs, preparing plans, and contributing to site planning and architectural designs for residential, commercial, and urban projects. The Junior Architect will support senior team members with design drawings, 3D visualizations, presentations, and documentation for clients and regulatory approvals. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with architects, urban planners, and other consultants. The role also includes participating in design reviews, refining details based on feedback, and helping ensure that implemented designs align with project vision, sustainability goals, and local context.

Qualifications

• Possess skills in Architecture and Interior Design for creating coherent, functional, and aesthetically strong outdoor environments.
• Support site analysis, layout development, and implementation of design on the ground.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architecture with a focus on design, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or similar), and familiarity with graphic tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for presentations.
• Understanding of sustainable design principles, climate-responsive landscapes, and local plant materials.
• Strong visual communication, detailing, and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and usability for site execution.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, manage time effectively, and engage proactively with on-site conditions and project stakeholders.
