Gavins is seeking a diligent and structured Junior Accountant to oversee day-to-day financial operations, accounting records, ledgerreconciliations, and compliance for our retail and wholesale business. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate balance sheets, monitor dailysales/returns, track expenses, assist in financial forecasting, and optimize cash management processes.

Responsibilities

• Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flowstatements; daily recording and reconciliation of sales, returns, and inventory transactions.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze financial data to extract insights on sales trends, gross margins, and operating expenses; preparemanagement reports and periodic financial summaries.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in building annual budgets and financial forecasts for the retail business; track budget vs. actualperformance to support cost control initiatives.
• Inventory Accounting: Track inventory levels, valuation, and turnover rates; assist in identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory andsuggest mitigation strategies.
• Expense Management: Audit and verify expense claims in line with company policy; identify cost-saving and workflow optimizationopportunities.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure strict compliance with retail accounting standards, tax regulations, and GST/statutory filings; coordinateexternal audits with ready data access.
• Cash & Vendor Management: Monitor daily cash flow and bank balances; manage supplier relations, negotiate favorable payment terms,and process timely, accurate payments.
