MakerGhat is seeking a curious Junior Full Stack Developer to join our growing tech team in India. You will work across web and mobile, leverage AI tools and cloud infrastructure, and contribute to internal platforms powering our programs at scale.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in full stack development (internships count).
• Proficiency in at least one frontend framework (React/Next.js preferred) and one backend language (Node.js or Python).
• Working knowledge of AWS core services (S3, EC2, Lambda, or RDS).
• Experience using AI models via API (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) or within a product context.
• Exposure to vibe coding platforms or AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience building or publishing at least one mobile app (Android / iOS).
• Strong ability to learn new tools and frameworks independently and rapidly.

About MakerGhat

MakerGhat is an education non-profit nurturing India's youth to become entrepreneurs and leaders. Our team brings together education and design experts from Stanford and Georgia Tech, non-profit and industry leaders, educators, and makers of all ages. We partner with government, leading nonprofits, corporates, and research institutions to implement hands-on, high-quality programs in schools and colleges across India.

Reports to: Senior Curriculum Manager

CTC: INR 4–7 Lakhs (based on skills and demonstrated ability)

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Full Stack Development

• Build and maintain web applications using modern full stack frameworks (e.g. React / Next.js on the frontend, Node.js / Python on the backend)
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
• Write clean, maintainable code with attention to performance and scalability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
• Deploy, manage, and monitor applications on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or equivalent services)
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
• Troubleshoot cloud-side issues and optimise for cost and performance
• Work with environment configurations, secrets management, and IAM basics

3. Vibe Coding & AI-Assisted Development

• Use vibe coding platforms (Cursor, Replit, Bolt, Lovable, or similar) to accelerate development workflows
• Integrate AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or open-source equivalents) into products and internal tools
• Build AI-powered features such as chatbots, summarisers, classifiers, or recommendation modules
• Stay current with fast-moving AI tooling and proactively suggest smarter ways to build

4. Internal Tools Development

• Design and build internal dashboards, admin panels, and workflow automation tools
• Collaborate with Operations, M&E, and Program teams to understand tool requirements
• Maintain and iterate on existing internal systems based on user feedback
• Prioritise usability and reliability for non-technical internal users

5. Mobile App Development & Publishing

• Build cross-platform mobile apps using React Native or Flutter
• Handle the full publishing cycle — from builds and signing to App Store and Play Store submission
• Manage versioning, release notes, and post-launch bug fixes
• Ensure apps work reliably on low-end Android devices common in field settings

• Interest in the social sector, education technology, or impact-driven products
• Prior freelance or side-project work demonstrating initiative
