Job summary

PwC India is seeking a visionary Lead Front-End jQuery with 10+ years of professional experience to pioneer the technical strategy, architecture, and governance of our web applications. Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Design high-level front-end architecture, establishing scalable patterns for modular jQuery, custom plugins, and native Vanilla JS components.
  • Legacy Transformation: Strategy and execute the optimization, refactoring, or gradual migration of monolithic jQuery systems into modern architectural patterns or frameworks.
  • Technical Governance: Define, implement, and enforce strict enterprise-wide coding standards, performance benchmarks, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Team Management: Oversee engineering delivery by mentoring senior developers, conducting critical code reviews, and aligning technical milestones with product timelines.
  • Performance Engineering: Conduct advanced debugging and profiling to optimize DOM manipulation, memory usage, and loading speeds across highly complex codebases.
  • Cross-Browser Security: Secure applications against common client-side vulnerabilities like Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) while ensuring total cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Directors, and enterprise architects to translate high-level business goals into precise engineering requirements.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary Lead Front-End jQuery role with 10+ years of professional experience to pioneer the technical strategy, architecture, and governance of our web applications. In this enterprise-level leadership role, you will champion engineering excellence by combining deep architectural expertise in jQuery, AJAX, Vanilla JS, HTML, CSS and legacy systems with proven team management skills.
You will be responsible for defining technical roadmaps, optimizing large-scale legacy codebases for peak performance, and establishing robust client-side security standards. As a hands-on leader, you will mentor senior engineers, enforce strict code quality benchmarks, and bridge the gap between complex engineering, UI design, and business milestones, while strategically planning future technology migrations.

Mandatory Tech Stack: jQuery, AJAX, Vanilla JS, HTML, CSS and Generative AI (GitHub Copilot)

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Design high-level front-end architecture, establishing scalable patterns for modular jQuery, custom plugins, and native Vanilla JS components.
  • Legacy Transformation: Strategy and execute the optimization, refactoring, or gradual migration of monolithic jQuery systems into modern architectural patterns or frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Library Proficiency: Deep expertise in jQuery, including custom plugin development, DOM manipulation, event handling, and performance tuning.
  • Data Handling: Strong experience with AJAX, JSON, and integrating front-end interfaces with back-end REST APIs.
  • Core Frontend Expertise: Advanced, hands-on knowledge of native Vanilla JavaScript (ES6+ concepts,asynchronous programming)), HTML, and CSS (including preprocessors like SASS/LESS).
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading a technical team, managing code repositories, and driving sprint deliveries.
  • Tools & Environment: Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and front-end build tools (Webpack, Gulp, or npm scripts).
  • Problem Solving: Excellent debugging skills using browser developer tools and a strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility challenges.
  • API Integration: Architect robust asynchronous workflows using AJAX, Axios, or modern Fetch APIs to ensure seamless, secure data flow with back-end microservices. Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.

Good to have:

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with React JS.
  • Understanding of AWS Cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
