The Hindu Group (THG) seeks a PR & Internal Communications Lead to strengthen THG’s reputation through integrated communications across PR, corporate, internal, social media, and awards. You will lead external and internal messaging, build relationships with media and stakeholders, and amplify THG’s leadership voice and brands.

Role Overview

The PR & Internal Communications Lead will strengthen and protect the reputation of The Hindu Group (THG) through a strong, integrated communications strategy spanning Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, Social Media, and Awards.

The role will drive the Groups external and internal communication agenda, build strong relationships with media and key stakeholders, amplify the organisations leadership voice, create compelling content, and ensure consistent communication of THG's strategic priorities, achievements, brands and initiatives.

Role & responsibilities
1. PR & Corporate Communications
  • Develop and execute THG's PR and corporate communications strategy, aligned with business and brand objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with media, influencers, industry bodies, B2B forums and other key stakeholders, and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen THGs visibility and reputation.
  • Manage media queries, press releases, media pitches, corporate announcements and other communication assets, while tracking coverage, sentiment and industry conversations.
  • Support reputation management and communication during sensitive or high-impact situations.
2. Leadership & Thought Leadership
  • Drive communication programmes to strengthen the visibility and thought leadership of THGs senior leadership.
  • Develop speeches, articles, opinion pieces, LinkedIn content, interviews, presentations and other leadership communication.
  • Identify relevant speaking opportunities and platforms, ensuring consistency with THGs values, vision and business priorities.
3. Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
  • Own THGs internal communications strategy and channels, including employee communication around key organisational priorities, achievements, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Develop engaging content and internal campaigns across platforms such as The Hindu Lounge, newsletters and other employee channels.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to strengthen employee engagement, participation and organisational culture.
4. Social Media & Digital Communications
  • Drive THGs corporate and leadership social media strategy and content across relevant platforms.
  • Develop and curate engaging content across formats, including posts, articles, videos, reels and campaign-led communication.
  • Leverage social media to strengthen corporate reputation, thought leadership, employer brand and amplification of key THG initiatives, while tracking performance and emerging trends.
5. Awards & Industry Recognition
  • Own THG’s end-to-end awards strategy, including identifying relevant awards, maintaining the awards calendar and managing submissions.
  • Work with Marketing, Editorial, Events, Brand Solutions and other teams to identify strong campaigns, innovations, leaders and organisational achievements for award entries.
  • Develop compelling case studies, award narratives and submissions, manage the complete filing process and build a repository of credentials and winning work.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise THG’s visibility and recognition across relevant industry platforms.
6. Brand, Business & Events Communications
  • Provide communication and PR support for key brand campaigns, events, launches, partnerships and strategic initiatives, working closely with Marketing and Business teams.
  • Develop communication assets including corporate presentations, brochures, videos, advertorials and other content for print and digital amplification.
  • Develop and execute PR plans for major THG events, conferences and conclaves, including pre-, during- and post-event media amplification.
  • Identify relevant industry forums and platforms to strengthen THG’s participation and visibility.
Preferred candidate profile
  • 8-10 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Internal Communications, Media Relations and/or Content Marketing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, editorial and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex business information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Strong understanding of the media and digital landscape, including print, digital, broadcast and social media platforms, content formats and emerging trends.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional teams and external agencies.
  • Strong understanding of brand reputation, corporate positioning and crisis communication.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with strong presentation and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience in managing award submissions and industry recognition programmes will be an advantage.
