Job summary

FIS is seeking an experienced Java Production Support professional for Bangalore. The role focuses on L2/L3 support of Java-based applications, incident management, and collaboration with Development, DevOps, and Infra teams to ensure stability and performance of critical financial services applications.

The candidate should have strong Java/J2EE, AWS, microservices, REST APIs, and SQL skills, with ITIL process understanding and exposure to monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Computer Engineering required.
• 7+ years of experience in Application Production Support.
• Strong experience with Java/J2EE enterprise applications.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based application support.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for Java-based production applications.
• Investigate and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Perform detailed issue analysis using logs, monitoring tools, and DB queries.
• Coordinate with L3 Development, Infrastructure, and Database teams for complex resolutions.
• Monitor health of applications, batch jobs, and interfaces.
• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare incident reports.
• Support production deployments and post-release validation.
• Participate in change, problem, and release management.

Java Production Support - 7 to 12 yrs -Bangalore

About The Team

We are a Production Support team responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications. The team works closely with Development, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Business teams to resolve production issues, support releases, and drive continuous service improvements.

The new hire should possess both L2 and L3 support expertise, enabling them to manage day-to-day production issues, drive complex troubleshooting efforts, perform code-level analysis, and collaborate with development teams to deliver sustainable solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide Level 2 support for Java-based production applications
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Perform detailed issue analysis using logs, monitoring tools, and database queries
• Coordinate with L3 Development, Infrastructure, Middleware, and Database teams for complex issue resolution
• Monitor application health, batch jobs, interfaces, and scheduled processes
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare incident reports
• Analyze application logs and identify patterns to prevent recurring issues.
• Support production deployments and validate application functionality post-release
• Participate in problem management, change management, and release activities
• Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures
• Work with business users and stakeholders to provide timely updates on production issues
• Participate in on-call support and critical incident management activities

What You Bring

• One should have the coding knowledge in Java and able to read and make changes in the code in Java

7+ years of experience in Application Production Support.

Strong experience supporting Java/J2EE enterprise applications.

Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application support.

Good understanding of Microservices and REST APIs.

Proficiency in SQL and database troubleshooting.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar.

Experience managing critical production incidents and major outage situations.

Experience working with monitoring and observability tools.

Good understanding of ITIL processes.

Experience supporting high-volume, customer-facing applications.
