Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Chennai is seeking a backend engineer to develop high-performance applications and microservices for telecom management platforms. You will work with architects, product owners, QA, and operations to deliver secure, scalable solutions for network monitoring, fault management, and performance analytics.

You will design and implement REST APIs, event-driven processing with Kafka, and integrate with OSS/BSS stacks.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in design, development, and maintenance of enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building REST APIs and backend services for telecom NMS/EMS/OSS platforms.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka for real-time processing.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift for containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of OSS/BSS, telecom protocols, and networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and automated testing.

Your Role

You will be responsible for developing high-performance backend applications and microservices for telecom network management platforms. Working closely with architects, product owners, QA teams, and operations teams, you will deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions that support network monitoring, fault management, performance management, and service assurance functions.

your Profile

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Build REST APIs and backend services for Telecom NMS/EMS and OSS platforms.
• Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing and network analytics.
• Participate in architecture discussions, solution design, and technical reviews.
• Integrate applications with network elements, inventory systems, OSS platforms, and third-party telecom applications.
• Develop solutions supporting fault, performance, configuration, and network management functions.
• Implement cloud-native, secure, highly available, and scalable services.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive performance improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD implementation, automated testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in Core Java (Java 8/11/17+)
• Hands-on expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security
• Experience with Microservices Architecture and REST API development
• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Experience with Telecom NMS/EMS platforms and network management systems
• Understanding of OSS/BSS architecture and telecom operations
• Knowledge of networking technologies and telecom protocols
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Maven, Gradle, and Git

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to telecom network monitoring and service assurance platforms
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of SDN/NFV and Network Automation concepts
• Understanding of DevOps and Agile delivery methodologies
• Exposure to observability and monitoring tools
