Job summary

IFS is seeking a Backend Engineer (Java) to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services powering key platform components. You will join agile teams, work with cloud environments, and integrate with third-party APIs to deliver scalable solutions.

You will own end-to-end backend features, troubleshoot distributed systems, and collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to clarify requirements. Hybrid work options support diverse needs and ensure delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of backend or software engineering experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with Java frameworks (Spring Boot) for building backend services and APIs.
• Proficient with SQL and NoSQL databases; strong understanding of schema design, performance tuning, and data integrity.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with third-party API integrations (REST, OAuth2, webhooks).
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; proactive and able to navigate loosely defined problems.
• Bonus: Kafka, Terraform, observability tools like Prometheus/Grafana

Responsibilities
