Job summary

UBS is seeking a skilled developer to design and build next generation pension and financial services applications in Pune. You will translate requirements, collaborate with Architects and Product Owners, and deliver high-quality software across backend and frontend stacks.

The team emphasizes modern development practices, documentation, unit tests, and test automation. You’ll work across global colleagues and contribute to scalable, reliable software for Wealth Management solutions.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science and 5+ years Java/Javascript experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java, including functional and OOP, TDD and testing automation.
• Expert in design patterns and distributed architecture with focus on quality.
• Experience designing REST APIs and end-to-end integration.
• 3+ years with Spring/Spring Boot, JEE, Servlets, JPA (Hibernate).
• Strong SQL skills in Oracle or PostgreSQL and ability to create DML/DDL.
• Experience with Cloud native tech (microservices, containers) and DevOps.
• Experience with Flowable BPM.
• Familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent communication in English; team player.
• Preferably 2+ years in financial services.
• Web development with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS; testing.
• Curious about AI to improve workflows; uses sound judgment.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a developer for the IT Crew "Obtain Pension Solutions" to:

• work closely with the Requirements Engineer, the Solution Architect as well as the Product Owner in the team and translate the requirements into tasks and stories for the development team
• be an active member of our development team (Backend & Frontend) and deliver software, enabling our business growth and strategy
• ensure highest quality delivery of our Software and implement respective quality measures and checks
• ensure the fully development cycle including proper documentation, unit testing and test automation scripting
• support the team in our Crew with your own development skills and ability

The team

You’ll be working in the team "Obtain Pension Solutions" in Pune as one of our developers, providing user journeys for pensions products and processes. The IT capabilities cover a spectrum of features related to pension provision, such as accounting, advice, investment, and maintenance.

Our team is responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of modern, channel agnostic services to be used by clients as self-services and internal experts alike. As a developer, you are a key player to achieve both, business and technology objectives through providing guidance and advise to your development colleagues in Zurich, India, the Philippines and Northern Macedonia.

Your Skills And Experience

• B.S. degree (or similar) in Computer Science (or similar) and more than 5 years of experience in Java Backend and JavaScript Frontend development
• a solid knowledge of Java, both at Functional and Object-Oriented Programming level, Test Driven Development and testing automations
• expert knowledge on design pattern and distributed architecture, with a passion for delivering quality software using best practices in chosen technology
• designing and implementing REST APIs, understanding full end-to-end integration
• 3+ years in total with Spring Framework / Spring Batch / Spring Boot, JEE, Servlets and JPA (Hibernate)
• strong SQL skills, RDBMS know how (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and confidence creating DML / DDL scripts
• experience with Cloud native technology (Microservices, container technology) and DevOps
• experience with Flowable Business Process Automation
• accustomed with Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• excellent skills as creative problem solver and team player with great communication skills and fluent in English
• preferably 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry
• Web development with React, JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS and Web unit / integration testing
• You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
