FIS is hiring a Software Engineer I in Pune to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot. You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud deployments on AWS or Azure, with CI/CD pipelines and containerization via Docker and Kubernetes.

You will work on identity and access management using modern IdPs and SSO protocols, plus event-driven architectures with Kafka and related messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop integrations using Apache Camel and enterprise integration patterns.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes environments.
• Monitor application health, logs, and performance in cloud environments.
• Implement authentication and authorization with modern IdPs (Azure AD, Okta, Keycloak, Auth0).
• Integrate SSO using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
• Design event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, and cloud queues.
• Build resilient asynchronous processing workflows.
• Analyze performance, optimize APIs and JVM tuning, troubleshoot production issues.

About the role:

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Software Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience developing enterprise applications using modern Java technologies and cloud‑native architecture. This role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining scalable applications while working closely with senior engineers, architects, and product teams. The candidate should be passionate about continuous learning, software craftsmanship, modern development practices, AI-assisted development, and building distributed systems that are secure, reliable, and performant.

About the team:

Position Manager team is working on below daily activities

• Data import from Exchange and BO (Exercise, Assignment, Settlement, Market data, closeout, final position spread)
• Reconcile final positions, Exr/Asns between exchange BO
• Reconcile top day trades
• Closeout the position at exchange
• Position closeout, Client Stock notifications

What you will be doing:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop integrations using Apache Camel and enterprise integration patterns.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes environments.
• Monitor application health, logs, and performance in cloud environments.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using modern Identity Providers (IdP) such as Azure AD, Okta, Key cloak, Auth0, or similar solutions.
• Integrate applications with enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML protocols.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and enterprise standards.
• Configure and manage API Gateway solutions.
• Develop integrations with message brokers and MQ platforms.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Azure Service Bus, Amazon SQS/SNS, or similar platforms.
• Build resilient and scalable asynchronous processing workflows.
• Analyze application performance and identify bottlenecks
• Optimize APIs, database interactions, JVM settings, and system resource utilization
• Participate in troubleshooting production issues and root cause analysis
• Implement observability, monitoring, and logging best practices

What you will need:

• Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

• Good to have Investment banking experience Derivates markets experience.
• Experience - 1-3 Years only
• Location - PUNE Only
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Candidate should be flexible to support business in extended hours.
• Good knowledge in AWS, Azure Cloud.
• Quick learner and proactive in handling additional tasks.

• Fluent in English
• Excellent communicator ability to discuss concerns and issues with other support team.
• Good to have knowledge of large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude, Agentic AI workflows and intelligent automation solutions.
• Good to have knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers for AI tooling and enterprise integrations to improve productivity and customer experience.
