Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with hands‑on experience in Java and Spring Boot to support our client’s technology projects in India. The role requires someone with strong backend development skills and a working understanding of modern frontend technologies.

The selected resource will work on backend applications, APIs and database-driven systems. Ownership of the modules and working in collaborative manner with all teams across the project is expected.

This is a remote opportunity. Resources may be engaged on a full-time, part-time or contractual basis depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Spring Security and JWT.
• Design database structures and work on SQL and query optimisation using PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Deploy and maintain applications in Linux-based environments.
• Work with Maven, Nginx or Apache, AWS EC2 and virtual machine environments as required.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA professionals and business stakeholders.
• Actively involved in code reviews, architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Take ownership of modules and maintain agreed development standards.
• Support other developers and share technical knowledge where required.

Required Technical Skills

• Interest in gradually taking on greater technical and mentoring responsibilities.

AI Experience

Experience with AI‑assisted development tools for coding, debugging, documentation or developer productivity may be useful. This is not a mandatory requirement.

Managerial Experience

Previous formal team‑handling experience is not mandatory. This is primarily a hands‑on development role. However, the candidate should be comfortable supporting junior developers and gradually taking on technical leadership responsibilities when required.

Operational Experience

• Have worked on backend application development and maintenance.
• Experience working with APIs, databases and server‑side components.
• Competent in identifying and resolving technical and application issues.
• Experience with build tools and deployment processes.
• Ability to coordinate with QA, frontend and business teams during software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant practical experience and demonstrated Java/Spring Boot development skills will also be considered.

Certifications

Relevant certifications in Java, AWS, cloud technologies or software development may be an advantage but are not mandatory.

Experience

2–4 Years of relevant hands‑on software development experience, with practical experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
