Job summary

SAS, a leader in analytics, seeks a Software Developer in Pune to build next-gen planning solutions across finance, retail, and supply chain domains. The role involves translating requirements into scalable features and architectures, plus hands-on Java development and code reviews.

You will mentor peers, improve software quality, coordinate with product management, and assist in project scoping and execution. This is a full-time position in a dynamic, globally focused team.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of enterprise Java development experience.
• Experience with Java, Spring, and MVC patterns.
• Strong unit, regression, and integration testing.
• Familiarity with OOAD and design patterns.
• Experience with XML/JSON.
• Experience on Windows and Linux.
• Knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, Postgres).
• Understanding of software development processes and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand the requirements from product management and translate them to features and architecture using new technologies to solve the business problem.
• Do Hands on Coding, review and test Java mid-tier.
• Guide and assist developers and peers in the team.
• Improve processes related to quality software development. Work closely with the development and testing teams to ensure quality software development.
• Work closely with product management to define the future requirements.
• Help the management in project scoping and execution.

About the job

The Industrials team is looking for a Software Developer to build the next generation of planning solutions to be offered to multiple domains like finance, retail and supply chain planning. Our team works on solving the business problems using cutting-edge technology. We are looking for out-of-the-box thinkers who will add to the vibrant team.

As a Software Developer, you will:

• Understand the requirements from the product management and should be able to translate them to the product features and architecture using new technologies to solve the business problem.
• Do Hands on Coding, review and test Java mid-tier.
• Guide and assist developers and peers in the team.
• Improve processes related to quality software development. Work closely with the development and testing teams to ensure quality software development.
• Work closely with product management to define the future requirements.
• Help the management in project scoping and execution.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5-10 years of working experience in developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring, and MVC patterns, Gradle, Maven.
• Education requirement. B Tech, MCA, or equivalent
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience with disciplined unit, regression, and integration testing
• Good understanding and usage of OOAD and Design Patterns.
• Using XML, JSON effectively.
• Experience on Windows as well Linux operating system with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Working with Databases/SQL -- Oracle, Postgres
• Knowledge of software development processes and Quality Standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with Agile methodology and with tools such as Jira, Confluence
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Knowledge about Java, GoLang, React or any UI framework.

• Working knowledge of CVS, Jenkins, Git, Gerrit
• Familiarity with Apache projects like Hadoop, Spark.
• Knowledge of any public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, etc.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI, CD) model
