Job summary

SAS is seeking a Software Developer to build the next generation of our planning solution. The role focuses on Java-based backend with Spring MVC and a modern UI using JavaScript, ReactJS/Redux, in a hybrid work model in India.

You will translate requirements into architectural designs, code, review, and mentor peers while collaborating with product and QA teams to ensure scalable and robust software delivery.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of enterprise Java development experience.
• B Tech, MCA, or equivalent.
• Experience with disciplined unit, regression, and integration testing.
• Knowledge of design patterns for scalability and resiliency.
• OOAD and design patterns understanding.
• XML and JSON usage.
• Windows and Linux with basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with Oracle or Postgres databases.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into features and architecture using new technologies.
• Present design and architecture to stakeholders and define scalable/usable solutions.
• Hands-on coding and testing of Java mid-tier components.
• Develop the Next Gen UI using JavaScript, ReactJS/Redux or similar.

About the job

The Intelligent Planning team is looking for a Software Developer to build the next generation of the planning solution to be offered to multiple domains like finance, retail and supply chain planning. Our team works on solving the business problems using cutting-edge technology. We are looking for out-of-the-box thinkers who will add to the vibrant team.

As a Software Developer, you will:

• Understand the requirements from the product management and should be able to translate them to the product features and architecture using new technologies to solve the business problem.
• Present the design and proposed architecture to the stakeholders. Should be able to define the architecture for scale, performance and usability. Should facilitate the selection of correct technical choices via collaboration.
• Do Hands on Coding, review and test Java mid-tier.
• Develop the Next Gen UI using JavaScript, ReactJS/REDUX or similar technology.
• Guide and mentor junior developers and peers in the team.

• Improve processes related to quality software development. Work closely with the development and testing teams to ensure quality software development.
• Work closely with product management to define the future requirements.

• Help the management in project scoping and execution.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3-8 years of working experience in developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring, and MVC patterns, Gradle, Maven.
• Education requirement. B Tech, MCA, or equivalent
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience with disciplined unit, regression, and integration testing.
• Hands on with design patterns especially with respect to scalability and resiliency.
• Good understanding and usage of OOAD and Design Patterns.
• Using XML, JSON effectively.
• Experience on Windows as well Linux operating system with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Working with Databases/SQL -- Oracle, Postgres
• Knowledge of software development processes and Quality Standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with Agile methodology and with tools such as Jira, Confluence
• Working knowledge of CVS, Jenkins, Git, Gerrit
• Coding experience in other languages like Java, Go-lang, Python

• Familiarity with Apache projects like Hadoop, Spark.
• Knowledge of any public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, etc.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI, CD) model
