Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java-based apps, SDKs, libraries, and tools for smart card and secure payment platforms.
• Build APIs and frameworks for Secure Elements, Java Cards, and mobile wallets.
• Develop sample apps, reference implementations, and SDK documentation for consumers.
• Implement EMV, GlobalPlatform, ISO 7816/14443 compliant apps.
• Develop secure, optimized code under memory and performance constraints.
• Debug, test, and validate apps using standard industry tools.
• Manage applet lifecycle (install, personalization, delete) via GlobalPlatform.
• Work on key management, cryptography, and data protection.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Java Card technology, Smart Card applications, Secure Elements, and SDK development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java Card applets, developer SDKs, APIs, and tools used for provisioning, personalization, transaction processing, and lifecycle management of secure payment and transit applications.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in secure application development, cryptography, payment technologies (EMV, NCMC, and contactless payments), and software frameworks supporting Java Card‑based solutions. Knowledge of smart card technologies, EMV standards, SDK development, and secure application development in constrained environments will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Java‑based applications, SDKs, libraries, and developer tools for smart card and secure payment platforms.
• Build APIs and frameworks for interaction with Secure Elements, Java Cards, and mobile wallets.
• Develop sample applications, reference implementations, and technical documentation for SDK consumers.
• Implement EMV, GlobalPlatform, and ISO 7816/14443 compliant applications.
• Develop secure and optimized code considering memory and performance constraints.
• Perform applet debugging, testing, and validation using industry‑standard tools.
• Manage applet lifecycle (installation, personalization, deletion) using GlobalPlatform.
• Work on secure key management, cryptographic operations, and data protection.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including host system, personalization, and certification teams.
• Analyse and resolve issues in card‑host interaction and transaction flows.
• Maintain technical documentation and support production deployments.

Skills:

• 3+ years experience in software development and qualification of Java Card Payment Application
• Prior Experience to developed payment card applet with any SCHEME
• In depth knowledge of EMV standard and global platform standard.
• Programming experience in Java or Python
• Experience developing SDKs, APIs, libraries, or developer tools.
• Experience with card personalization tools like MULTOS, GPPro, Gemalto IDV or similar.
• Should possesses the functional knowledge of ISO 14443 / 7816 / 8583 / 9564.
• Experience with debugging tools like PyAPDU, GPShell, or JCOP tools.
• Strong knowledge of chip manufacturing industry is needed.
• Strong understanding of EMV standards, cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, ECC, PQC).
• Familiarity with HSM and secure element programming.
• Experience in card manufacturing industry.
• Experience in PKI and Certificate Management
• Collaborate with teams on certification processes (EMVCo, PCI DSS, etc.)
• Good to have EMV certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or in a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience is must.
• Previous experience in payment networks requirements likes (Visa, Mastercard, Rupay, etc.) is a plus.Role & responsibilities
