Job summary

Bluehost is seeking a skilled Backend Java Developer to design and maintain scalable backend services in a dynamic, AI-enhanced environment. You will build RESTful APIs, contribute to microservice architectures, and optimize performance within an Agile team.

You will work across Linux-based stacks, mentor peers, and help shape the future of our platform with robust, well-tested code and strong collaboration. This role offers flexible work options including remote/hybrid/office environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend software development experience.
• Strong experience with Java (Java 8+) and Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and messaging technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Docker.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and Docker.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Spring Security.
• Experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Spring AI or AI-powered application development.
• Experience with OAuth2, JWT, or secure API development.
