Job summary
Capco, a Wipro company, is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer with Spring Batch to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and large-scale batch processing solutions. The role requires hands-on Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, microservices, REST APIs, and database technologies to deliver scalable backend systems.
The position is based in Pune with hybrid work (3 days in office). Immediate joiners are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Java application development.
- Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 8/11/17+).
- Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Batch.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
- Build batch processing solutions for large‑volume data ingestion, transformation, validation, and reporting.
- Develop robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support enterprise applications.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, maintainability, and security.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain integration processes involving file processing, scheduling, data migration, and ETL workflows.
- Design and optimize database solutions, ensuring efficient query performance and data integrity.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Follow coding standards, best practices, and software development lifecycle processes.

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong Spring Batch expertise to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and large-scale batch processing solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Microservices, REST APIs, and database technologies, with a proven track record of building scalable, high‑performance backend systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.

- Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and REST API development.
- Experience working with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server databases.
- Good knowledge of SQL optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with messaging and event‑driven systems such as Kafka is preferred.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, coding standards, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in financial services, banking, or enterprise‑scale applications.
- Familiarity with file processing formats such as CSV, XML, and JSON.
- Exposure to scheduling tools and batch orchestration frameworks.
- Knowledge of React or Angular is an added advantage.
- Strong backend developers with expertise in Java and Spring Batch.
