Job summary

Capco in Vadodara is seeking a Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 17 and Spring Framework. The role focuses on building robust RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise-grade platforms.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and frontend teams, optimize performance, implement event-driven patterns with Kafka, and contribute to CI/CD practices. Hybrid work model with two office days per week is available.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Java 17 and modern Java development.
• Expertise in Spring Boot 3.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Microservices.
• Experience designing REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Proficient with Oracle 19c, query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with unit testing and code quality tools.

Job Title: Java Backend Developer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java 17 and Spring Framework 3.x. Build robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support enterprise-grade applications and digital platforms. Develop and optimize backend services with a focus on performance, reliability, security, and maintainability. Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and Frontend Developers to deliver high-quality solutions. Implement event-driven architectures and messaging solutions using Apache Kafka. Design and optimize database solutions using Oracle 19c, ensuring efficient query performance and data integrity. Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience in Java 17 and modern Java development practices. Expertise in Spring Boot 3.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Microservices Architecture. Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed systems. Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c, including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning. Experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven and asynchronous processing. Good understanding of design patterns, object-oriented programming, and clean coding principles. Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and code quality tools. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative engineering practices. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
