Job summary

Amar Ujala is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot. You will work with Apache Kafka for real-time data streams, optimize Redis and Elasticsearch performance, and write robust unit and integration tests.

You will participate in code reviews, follow best practices, and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high-throughput systems remain reliable and efficient. Prior cloud and container experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs.
• Experience with producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and offsets.
• Working knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL and query optimization.
• Understanding Redis caching strategies.
• Experience with Elasticsearch indexing and search.
• Solid CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
• Exposure to AWS/GCP and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Work extensively with Apache Kafka to ingest, process, and stream real-time user events and content updates.
• Optimize database queries, Redis caching layers, and Elasticsearch indexes to keep API response times minimal.
• Write clean, maintainable code with robust unit and integration tests.
• Participate actively in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and contribute to JVM and application performance tuning.
• Build services that handle high-throughput traffic spikes reliably and gracefully.

Required Skills & Experience

• Java & Spring Boot- Strong hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, dependency injection, exception handling, and application design.
• Apache Kafka- Practical experience with producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, and event-driven processing.
• Databases- Working knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL, SQL, indexes, joins, transactions, and query optimization.
• Redis- Understanding of caching strategies, TTLs, cache invalidation, and using Redis to reduce backend latency.
• Elasticsearch- Working knowledge of indexing, querying, and using Elasticsearch for full-text/content search.
• Core CS- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, multithreading, and distributed-system fundamentals.
• Cloud & Containers- Exposure to AWS/GCP and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Testing- Experience with unit and integration testing and maintaining production-quality code.
