Job summary

Nisum India in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Java Lead to design and deliver scalable microservices using Spring Boot, WebFlux, and Kafka. You will lead technical delivery, define secure coding practices, and mentor the team in an agile setting.

The role requires hands-on Java, JPA, RESTful services, Kubernetes deployments, CI tools, and monitoring platforms. A BS in computer science is required with a track record of delivering complex backend systems.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience including minimum 3 years as Java Lead.
• 3+ years of hands-on Java leadership, architecture and delivery.
• Experience with Spring Boot, WebFlux, Microservices, Kafka.
• Experience with SQL and Oracle databases.
• Expertise in designing scalable microservices using open-source Java.
• Familiar with Spring MVC/Web Flux and design patterns.
• Knowledge of IT change management and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Hands on defining secure coding practices, unit testing standards, Git branching strategy, and code quality controls.
• Hands on experience with Java, JPA, RESTful services, SLF4J logging, Kafka topics/consumers, and application configuration management.
• Deployment to containerized platforms (Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI methodologies and automated testing tools.
• Application monitoring using AppDynamics, Splunk/ELK.
• Integration platforms and web services development.
• Agile development environment with Jira, sprint planning, and story point estimation.
• Lead and collaborate to deliver business value, mentor the team, and triage incidents.
• Self-starter who learns on the job and can drive the team forward.

What You Know

• Over 10 years of experience including minimum 3 years as Java Lead


• Java Lead with Springboot, Webflux, Microservices, Kafka skill set


• Experience working with multiple database tools like SQL, Oracle


• Expert with designing and developing scalable microservices using open-source Java


• Frameworks: Spring MVC/Web Flux and SpringBoot, Design patterns


• Familiar with industry standards around IT change management and development

What You Will Do

• Hands on experience in defining secure coding practices/standards, unit testing standards, GIT repo / branching strategy, Code quality (SONAR)


• Hands on experience with Java, JPA, RESTFul web services, SLF4J logging, Kafka Topic and consumer, Application configuration management


• Hands on experience with deployment to Containerized Platform (Kubernetes)


• Experience with CI (Continuous Integration) methodologies and tools, including automated testing tools


• Hands on experience with application monitoring tools - AppD, Splunk / ELK


• Hands on experience with Integration platforms and web services.


• Experience working in an agile development environment Jira, sprint planning, story point estimation


• Exhibit the qualities of situational leadership as well as someone who can work with a team and pull the team forward to deliver business value.


• A self-starter, who can learn on the job.


• Ability to triage, research, and find root causes of Production Incidents.


• Possess basic skills of database query and data analysis


• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise and easy-to-read functional specifications.


• Ability to create and interpret technical specifications.


• Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how technology can support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Applications, or related field.
