Job summary

Cloudxtreme is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer with a strong SRE and DevOps mindset to join our core engineering team in Hyderabad. You will design and maintain high-performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot, and ensure reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.

You will oversee Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and data workflows across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and Redis, while collaborating with security and QA teams to raise reliability and security standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience with a focus on SRE/DevOps.
• Expert-level Java and Spring Boot proficiency.
• Hands-on AWS core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
• Production Kubernetes and Docker experience.
• Strong relational and NoSQL database skills (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, Redis).
• Solid understanding of IaC, CI/CD toolchains, monitoring, and incident response.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer with a strong SRE and DevOps mindset to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring our scalable, high-performance microservices architecture remains reliable, secure, and highly efficient.

You will design robust backend systems using Java and Spring Boot, optimize cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), manage containerized deployments via Kubernetes, and oversee complex data pipelines across multiple database engines.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Architect, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Infrastructure & Cloud Operations: Design, provision, and manage resilient cloud infrastructure primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy, scale, and monitor applications using Kubernetes to ensure high availability and zero-downtime deployments.
• Database Management & Optimization: Oversee schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and Redis caching layers.
• SRE & Reliability: Implement robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, logging, and monitoring solutions to minimize downtime and enhance system observability.
• Collaboration: Partner with development, QA, and security teams to embed best practices for reliability, security, and performance early in the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience:7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with a dedicated focus on SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure reliability.
• Core Languages & Frameworks: Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Cloud & DevOps: Deep hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) core services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, S3, CloudWatch).
• Orchestration Tools: Proven production experience managing workloads with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Database Expertise: Strong background working with relational and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and in-memory data stores like Redis.
• Practices: Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD toolchains, automated monitoring, and incident response frameworks.
