Job summary

Speed Global in Pune, Maharashtra, India is seeking an Associate Technical Leader for VAVE / Cost Reduction Engineering in Engine Systems. The role focuses on generating and implementing cost-saving ideas for engine components and systems, and requires hands-on CAD with CREO and cross-functional collaboration.

You will develop feasibility studies, prepare business cases, and drive engineering releases through PLM systems, with 8+ years in heavy-duty engine design and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/automobile engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in component design and detailing, preferably heavy-duty engines.
• Strong knowledge of engine systems and fundamentals.
• Experience in VAVE, NPD, APQP, GD&T, PPAP, tolerance stack-up, change management.
• Proficiency in CREO for concept design and detailing.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Windchill PLM.
• Experience with casting, forging, and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Generate, evaluate, and implement cost reduction ideas for engine components and systems through VAVE initiatives.

• Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks in line with project schedules and commitments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple locations to drive project execution.
• Support change management activities and engineering releases through PLM systems.

• Strong understanding of engine systems, component functions, and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in VAVE, NPD, APQP, GD&T, PPAP, tolerance stack-up, and change management processes.
• Proficiency in CREO for concept design and detailing.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Windchill PLM.
• Manufacturing process knowledge of casting, forging, and sheet metal components.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a global engineering environment.
• Preferred: Experience with VAVE projects, JIRA, engineering drawing interpretation, engine/system datasheets, and collaboration with German teams.
