OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
IT Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies for Information Technology products, solutions, and services to support the organization’s business and technology objectives. The role ensures cost-effective acquisition, contract optimization, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and governance across IT spend categories.
The role partners closely with IT Infrastructure, Information Security, Enterprise Applications, Digital Transformation, Technology Operations & Legal to procure and manage technology solutions that drive operational efficiency, innovation, scalability, and business continuity.
The scope includes:
- Software Procurement: Enterprise applications, SaaS solutions, software licenses, subscriptions, maintenance, and support agreements.
- Hardware Procurement: Laptops, desktops, servers, storage, networking equipment, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Services: Public cloud, private cloud, hosting, colocation, disaster recovery, and managed infrastructure services.
- Network & Telecom Services: Data connectivity, internet services, telecom carriers, unified communications, and managed network services.
- Cybersecurity Procurement: Security platforms, managed security services, vulnerability assessments, cyber risk solutions, and compliance tools.
- IT Professional & Managed Services: System integration, application development, implementation partners, consulting services, outsourcing providers, and managed service providers (MSPs)

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software, cloud, telecom, cybersecurity, and IT services.
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities including RFI, RFQ, RFP, vendor evaluation, negotiations, and contract award.
- Conduct market assessments, supplier benchmarking, and commercial analysis to achieve best value.
- Drive vendor rationalization and spend optimization initiatives.
2. Contract & Commercial Management
- Negotiate pricing, licensing, service levels (SLAs), payment terms, and contractual obligations.
- Manage software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, cloud consumption agreements, and support contracts.
- Ensure commercial agreements adequately address legal, regulatory, and information security requirements.
- Track contract renewals, amendments, and termination obligations.
3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic technology suppliers.
- Partner with IT, Information Security, Legal, and Business teams to understand technology requirements and procurement needs.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resolve supplier-related commercial and operational issues.
4. Cost Optimization & Value Delivery
- Deliver annual savings, cost avoidance, and value realization targets.
- Evaluate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) for technology investments.
- Identify opportunities for license optimization, service consolidation, and consumption management.
- Support budgeting and demand-planning activities for IT spend.
5. Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and governance standards.
- Support third-party risk assessments, cybersecurity reviews, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Mitigate supplier, contractual, operational, and technology risks.
- Maintain complete procurement documentation and audit readiness.
MUST HAVE
Education:
MBA - Supply Chain Management / Engineering
Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, CPM, or equivalent preferred.
Work experience in years:
8-12 years of procurement, sourcing, or category management experience, with at least 5 years focused on IT Procurement.
- Proven experience managing procurement of:
- Software licenses and SaaS solutions
- Cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- IT infrastructure and hardware
- Cybersecurity solutions and services
- Telecom and network services
- IT consulting, managed services, and system integration services
- Experience leading complex RFPs, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models, cloud pricing structures, and IT vendor ecosystems.
- Experience working with global and regional technology suppliers.
- Exposure to supplier risk management, information security requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or large enterprise environments preferred.
