Job summary

Fluence Energy in Bengaluru, India is seeking an IT/OT Engineer (EMEA Delivery) for hybrid work. You will drive integration of BESS control with TSO SCADA systems, develop documentation, and support field engineering during commissioning and testing.

The role requires OT/SCADA experience, knowledge of IEC protocols, Linux and Python scripting, plus strong communication in English. Occasional travel to support projects may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in computer engineering, automation, information technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of OT/SCADA/Networking experience in power utility or related industry.
• Knowledge of SCADA protocols IEC 60870-5-101/103/104, IEC 61850 MMS, DNP3, Modbus & TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Drive integration of Fluence BESS control system into TSO SCADA systems, configure networks and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain core documentation for monitoring/equipment infrastructure, signals, diagrams and recovery strategies.
• Work with field engineers on commissioning/testing, FAT/SAT activities and system validation.

For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.**Job Description:**## IT/OT Engineer (EMEA Delivery)Department / Cost Center: Delivery / COGS: Solutions EngineeringEMEA job level: SCADA/Network EngineerLocation / work type: Bangalore, India**Task*** Drive the integration of Fluence BESS control system into Transmission System Operator (TSO) SCADA systems: Network configuration, communication interfaces, cybersecurity requirements, support in the equipment integration, monitoring signals configuration to meet TSO / Customer requirements.* Develop and maintain the Core documentation of existing monitoring/equipment infrastructure including hardware, signal lists, diagrams, communication links and system backup and recovery strategies.* Work with field engineers to find solutions to problems as they arise during commissioning/testing of a system, in all Network/SCADA/equipment related subjects.* Work in the FAT testing for our Network/SCADA racks. Provide inputs on the system FAT process: development and execution of testing procedures for the equipment validation.* Execute tests (FAT / SAT) to reduce commissioning time, and perform testing, including involvement in hands on lab testing during evaluations of prototype systems.* Drive interface to Clients and sub-contractors to support SCADA/Network compliance and drive concept during Project Execution phase.* Keep current with all Company products, developments, and projects as they apply to the SCADA network at both site and enterprise levels.* Maintain strict management of change control procedures and documentation.* Remain current on industry best practices and updated technology to ensure the company is provided world-class SCADA services.* Support company strategy and provide relevant reporting and updates to Company leadership as needed.* Develop and recommend performance management and feedback to current SCADA technical support KPI’s.* Executing tasks related to Fluence’ safety KPIs* Travel throughout EMEA – If required.**Skills Required*** Bachelor / master in computer engineering, automation, information technology, computer science (or equivalent)* Minimum 3 years of relevant OT / SCADA / Networking experience with a power utility or related industry and the design, operation and maintenance of a power plant.* Knowledge about SCADA protocols such as: IEC60870-5-101/103/104, IEC 61850 MMS, DNP3, Modbus & TCP/IP, PLC, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), SEL Real Time Automation Controller (RTAC), SEL Relays & Meters, Siemens Relays & Meters & SCADA Gateways & Data Concentrators* Awareness of OSI layer models and deployment of network configurations.* Basic knowledge in remote access VPN, site-to-site VPN, Routers, Firewalls, Switches (Cisco + industrial equipment), SD-WAN* Experience with Managed Ethernet Switches, Media Converters (Fiber & Serial)* Experience in Linux based systems and commands, High-level programming languages such as Python and shell/bash scripting as well as with Github.* Basic knowledge of industrial communication standards including OPC UA, DA, HDA, REST and common data storage techniques.
