Job summary

Fluence is seeking an IT/OT Engineer (EMEA Delivery) to drive the integration of the BESS control system with TSO SCADA networks in Bangalore. You will configure networks, ensure cybersecurity, and support equipment integration across projects.

The role requires hands-on testing, documentation, and collaboration with field engineers to optimize commissioning times and ensure compliance with SCADA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor / Master in computer engineering, automation, information technology, computer science (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of OT / SCADA / Networking experience with a power utility or related industry.
• Knowledge of SCADA protocols and industrial networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Drive integration of Fluence BESS control system into TSO SCADA systems including network configuration and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain core documentation for monitoring and equipment infrastructure.
• Support field engineers during commissioning, testing, and FAT/SAT activities.

Job Description: IT/OT Engineer (EMEA Delivery) Department / Cost Center: Delivery / COGS: Solutions Engineering EMEA job level: SCADA/Network Engineer Location / work type: Bangalore, India Task Drive the integration of Fluence BESS control system into Transmission System Operator (TSO) SCADA systems: Network configuration, communication interfaces, cybersecurity requirements, support in the equipment integration, monitoring signals configuration to meet TSO / Customer requirements. Develop and maintain the Core documentation of existing monitoring/equipment infrastructure including hardware, signal lists, diagrams, communication links and system backup and recovery strategies. Work with field engineers to find solutions to problems as they arise during commissioning/testing of a system, in all Network/SCADA/equipment related subjects. Work in the FAT testing for our Network/SCADA racks. Provide inputs on the system FAT process: development and execution of testing procedures for the equipment validation. Execute tests (FAT / SAT) to reduce commissioning time, and perform testing, including involvement in hands on lab testing during evaluations of prototype systems. Drive interface to Clients and sub-contractors to support SCADA/Network compliance and drive concept during Project Execution phase. Keep current with all Company products, developments, and projects as they apply to the SCADA network at both site and enterprise levels. Maintain strict management of change control procedures and documentation. Remain current on industry best practices and updated technology to ensure the company is provided world-class SCADA services. Support company strategy and provide relevant reporting and updates to Company leadership as needed. Develop and recommend performance management and feedback to current SCADA technical support KPI’s. Executing tasks related to Fluence’ safety KPIs Travel throughout EMEA – If required.

Skills Required

• Bachelor / master in computer engineering, automation, information technology, computer science (or equivalent) Minimum 3 years of relevant OT / SCADA / Networking experience with a power utility or related industry and the design, operation and maintenance of a power plant.
• Knowledge about SCADA protocols such as: IEC60870-5-101/103/104, IEC 61850 MMS, DNP3, Modbus & TCP/IP, PLC, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), SEL Real Time Automation Controller (RTAC), SEL Relays & Meters, Siemens Relays & Meters & SCADA Gateways & Data Concentrators Awareness of OSI layer models and deployment of network configurations.
• Basic knowledge in remote access VPN, site-to-site VPN, Routers, Firewalls, Switches (Cisco + industrial equipment), SD-WAN Experience with Managed Ethernet Switches, Media Converters (Fiber & Serial) Experience in Linux based systems and commands, High-level programming languages as Python and shell/bash scripting as well as with Github.
• Basic knowledge of industrial communication standards including OPC UA, DA, HDA, REST and common data storage techniques. Experience working with SCADA hardware to act as the software platform for SCADA systems Knowledge about inverters, transformers, I/O racks, telecommunications, and controllers.
• Solution-orientated Good communication skills English fluent German / other language skills desired.
