Job description

Job Title: IT Manager

Company Overview: We are a custom jewelry manufacturer working with retail jewelers across the country. We don't treat our clients as customers. We treat them as partners, and that mindset shapes how we

work every day. Beyond producing high-quality jewelry, our goal is to make custom jewelry manufacturing as smooth, scalable, and reliable as possible for the retailers we serve. Our mission is to provide the best experience for our retail partners, and we're building a technology-forward operation designed to support that mission. We are looking for team members committed to that mission to join our Mumbai team.

Cultural Fit Non-Negotiable

We are not looking for people who only memorize steps or do what they are told. If that is how you prefer to work, this is not the right place for you. Everyone on our team is expected to live our four core values:

  • Understand The Why Always challenge why you are doing something. Things must make sense to you, and you will be expected to understand the reasoning behind your work.
  • Think In Solutions When you have an issue, come to your supervisor or team with a proposed solution. We solve problems together, but do not arrive empty-handed.
  • Own The Outcome If you are accountable for something, you own it until it is complete. When things don't go as planned, you accept it and decide how to improve the outcome in the future.
  • Proud Of Your Work We want players who care about the quality of what they produce people who put their name behind their work.
Growth & Career Progression

This is a growth-oriented leadership role for the right person that reports directly to one of the Co-Founders. Today the team is ~30 people. Within 1218 months it will be 50-60, and you will be building and managing the IT team that supports that growth.

In year one, you will be hands-on across the full stack of IT: infrastructure, security, identity management, device deployment, file server management, helpdesk. But the reason we're hiring at this level is not to fill a help desk seat it's to find someone who thinks strategically,

solves problems from first principles, and builds systems that make future scale possible.

If you're someone who spots a broken process and can't help but fix it this role was designed for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities, ordered by how we think about this role - strategic first, operational second:

  • Solve IT Problems & Plan Ahead. When the company has an IT problem, you figure out what is needed, design the solution, and lead the work from start to finish. From big-picture decisions to daily issues.
  • Keep Systems Running. Make sure our key systems stay up and working user accounts, file storage, phones, email, and cloud tools.
  • Protect the Company. Own how we keep systems and data safe securing devices, controlling who has access, backup & disaster recovery, and training the team on good security habits.
  • Manage the Office Network. Take care of all office networks switches, Wi-Fi, and making sure people stay connected across offices.
  • Set Up New Hires, Wind Down Leavers. When someone joins, you set up their computer, accounts, and software. When someone leaves, you remove their access and collect their devices.
  • Buy and Set Up New Devices. Purchase new computers and equipment, set them up, and manage them from the day we buy them until we retire them.
  • Manage Vendors and Contracts. Handle our relationships with hardware, software, and IT service providers. Review prices and contracts so we are not overpaying.
  • Build and Lead a Team. As we grow, hire and develop the IT team. Hold regular one-on-ones. Keep the bar high.
  • Help the Team Day-to-Day (For Now). In the beginning, you will personally help staff with their IT problems. Over time, you will build a team and processes so you can step out of this work.
  • Bring in AI and Automation. Stay current on AI and automation tools. Find places where AI can make IT and the wider company more efficient. Partner with our software team for bigger builds.
What We're Looking For:
Must-haves:
  • 7+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or IT management.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a problem end-to-end not just execute tasks assigned by others.
  • Native-level English (written & verbal) for US stakeholder communication.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, and endpoint management (Intune, JumpCloud, or equivalent MDM)
  • Experience managing or leading IT for a team of 3050 people, or equivalent operational scope.
  • Prior experience hiring, managing, or mentoring at least one direct report.
  • Strong communication skills can write clearly, explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders, and ask sharp questions before jumping to solutions.
  • Genuine curiosity about technology: self-taught something new in the last 1218 months; can name what they'are currently learning.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment where you are sometimes the only IT person in the room.
What We Offer You:

What we offer is different from the typical corporate structure:

  • Direct access to co-founder ownership - you report to a Co-Founder and your work is visible at the top of the organization
  • Real authority to make decisions, not just recommendations - we hire people to own things, not to wait for permission
  • A company that is established and systematically growing - your work compounds, it doesn't get erased by the next pivot
  • An AI-native build environment - we use frontier LLMs, n8n, custom MCP servers, and custom AI Agents; we take AI tooling seriously
  • A culture that treats feedback as a gift - direct, honest, no-politics and it goes both ways
  • Competitive Mumbai-market compensation
  • The opportunity to build and lead the IT function from the ground up - this is a department you will own, not inherit
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary (Depends on the skillset and company fit)
  • 12 PTO days per year
  • 6 Paid Federal US Holidays
  • 4 Paid Indian National Holidays
  • Gratuity-PF setup
  • Health insurance
  • 5 Day work week
