Job summary

Deutsche Bank AG in Pune is seeking an IT Application Owner (ITAO) to take end-to-end ownership of the application and ensure governance, risk and compliance across production and test environments. The role requires strong technical knowledge and experience in managing large-scale IT applications within a bank.

Expect robust collaboration with stakeholders, audits, and security teams, plus a focus on driving DR readiness, vendor management, and roadmap alignment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience
• 5-6 years in a similar role or application management
• Hands-on ITIL experience is a plus
• Experience in Risk, IT Run the Bank and Support domains
• Technical background: Java/Cobol, Oracle DB, PL/SQL, Linux
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and workflows, with responsible data use

Responsibilities

• Maintain structural availability, stability, and performance of the production and test environments for the owned application.
• Ensure policy compliance and adherence to governance processes for the owned application(s).
• Coordinate external/internal audits and SOX processes to avoid delays or escalations due to non-compliance.
• Plan, conduct, and support Disaster Recovery tests.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders on enhancements, upgrades, and new requirements; coordinate with deployment teams.
• Liaise with Service Operation / L2 for application expertise wherever needed.
• Work with the Technical Information Security Officer on IT security and governance topics.
• Manage software licenses, security certificates, and contracts with service providers.
• Vendor management of all application-related service providers.
• Change management: Production Change Review and Impact Analysis.
• Responsible for Access Management and frequent user/role recertification.
• Ensure availability of application knowledge and documentation; mentor the team.
• Manage the technical roadmap of the application and budget capacity.
• Validate deliverables for all projects/changes run through the application.

Role Description

• The IT Application Owner (ITAO) is a critical IT role with overall accountability and ownership for an application and/or infrastructure instance(s). ITAO is an expert with an in-depth functional- and technical knowledge of his application.
• The role's key responsibility is end-to-end application IT governance in line with Bank's policies, procedures and standards. The ITAO has to manage and maintain his application, ensuring compliance with applicable IT policies procedures and with specific consideration to IT Management and Information Security policies.

Your key responsibilities

• Maintain structural availability, stability, and performance of the application on Production and Test environments.
• Ensuring Policy Compliance and adherence to the governance processes for the application(s) owned.
• Timely completion of External/Internal Audit Teams, SOX processes to avoid any Delays or Escalations related to Non-compliance.
• Plan/Conduct/Support DR (Disaster Recovery) Test.
• Liaising with business stakeholders on product enhancement, version upgrades, new requirement and getting them implemented while closing working with the deployment teams.
• Collaborate with Service Operation / L2 where application expertise is required
• Work Closely with Technical Information Security officer on items related to IT Security and other governance topics.
• Managing software licenses, security certificates and contracts with service providers.
• Vendor Management of all application related service-providers:
• Change Management: Production Change Review and Impact Analysis.
• Responsible for Access Management (Perform User and role recertification on a frequent basis) and other infra related topics.
• Ensure availability of all necessary application/service knowledge and documentation mentoring the team.
• Manage the technical roadmap of the application (technology roadmap compliance), estimate/budget capacity needed.
• Validate deliverables for all projects/changes that run through the application.

Your skills and experience

• Total 10+ years of IT Experience.
• 5-6 years of experience in similar role or application management.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management. Hands-on ITIL experience is a Plus.
• Experience in working in Risk, IT Run the Bank and Support domains.
• Basic Technical capabilities and infrastructure knowledge (background in Java/Cobol, Oracle database, PL/SQL, Linux)
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Good to have

• Some technical background required, experience in Java/Cobol with knowledge of web- and application- servers is a plus.
• Basic Understanding of Automated Deployment CI: GIT, Maven, Artifactory, Teamcity etc
• Some experience on Google Cloud is desirable but not mandatory (On Job Learning)
• Experience of working together with Agile/Scrum teams and their methods and tooling. (Good to have)
• High-level understanding of Cobol/DB2/Tomcat
