About the Team
The Monetization Platforms department is one of the strategic units within Corporate IT and is responsible for Design, development & management of Billing, Licensing and Subscription Solutions as three central services across the ZEISS Group worldwide.
Your Role
As a Support Devops Engineer (Global Role) with 2-7 years, you are responsible for the support and handling incidents for Licensing platform at Zeiss.
Your key responsibilities:
Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable):
- Solid understanding ofsoftware licensing processes and workflows(entitlements, activations, renewals, deactivations)
- Proven ability toanalyze technical logs, traces, and telemetryand toreproduce incidentsin test environments
- Strong experience working withticketing systems for handling incidents and service requests
- Basic hands-on experience withSAP(navigation, reading key business data, understanding process context)
- Excellent communication skillsin English, both written and spoken, including explaining technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-oriented mindset with astructured and reliable working style
- Strong ability to prioritize and self-organizein a dynamic environment with parallel tickets, requests, and stakeholders
Core Technical Requirements:
- Experience inmonitoring and operatingproductive IT services (dashboards, alerts, basic KPIs)
- Ability tocollect, correlate, and interpret logsfrom different system components (backend services, clients, infrastructure)
- Familiarity withlicensing tools or providers(e.g. Thales, Flexera, Wibu) or comparable enterprise licensing solutions
- Experience usingremote support toolsand structured approaches to reproduce issues in test or staging environments
- Practical experience withdocumentation tools(e.g. Confluence, MS SharePoint, wiki systems) for end-user and internal documentation
- Basic understanding ofcloud-based applicationsand their operational aspects (availability, incidents, changes)
Broader Responsibilities the Candidate Will Own:
- Handlingincidents, problems, and standard service requestsrelated to the central licensing solutions
- Monitoringthe health and performance of licensing services, reacting to alerts, and initiating appropriate actions
- Reproducing issuesin dedicated environments and providing clear, structured input to development teams
- Creating and maintainingend-user documentation, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles
- Preparing and deliveringtrainings and onboarding sessionsfor key users and support stakeholders
- Creatingwell-documented bug reportsand change requests for developers, including logs, steps to reproduce, impact, and context
- Acting as abridge between end users, business stakeholders, and development/operations teams
Basic Requirements:
- University degree inIT, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, or equivalent practical experience
- Professional experience inIT service, application support, or operations, ideally in an enterprise context
- Practical exposure tolicensing-related processesin software or IT services
- Basic experience working withSAPenvironments from an application or support perspective
- High level ofservice orientation, reliability, and ownership for assigned tickets and tasks
Solid understanding of:
- End-to-end licensing processesand their impact on customers and internal business processes
- Reading and interpretingapplication and system logsto identify patterns, root causes, and next steps
- How totranslate user-reported issuesinto actionable, structured information for development teams
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams(Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, Business users, Product Owner)
