Job summary

Northern Trust in Bengaluru seeks an Investment Risk and Analytical Services analyst to deliver performance, compliance, and risk analytics for corporate clients. You will work with a team that handles private monitor studies, risk reporting, and post-trade controls, contributing to accuracy and timely client servicing.

The role requires a finance background, knowledge of capital markets, and proficiency with Bloomberg and related tools. Evening shifts may be required in a dynamic global setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete deliverables with 100% accuracy and timeliness.
• Adhere to procedures and SLAs.
• Identify and resolve service delivery root causes.
• Manage spikes in volumes and resolve complex queries.
• Act as process expert with end-to-end knowledge of the process and related apps.
• Build and maintain relationships with related departments and Middle Offices.
• Review work performed by other analysts.
• Train and mentor new hires on the process.
• Proactively communicate procedure updates and keep client profiles up to date.
• Lead and implement process improvements.

Role

Investment Risk and Analytical Services (IRAS) is a specialist department within Corporate and Institutional Business Services (CIBS) which offers clients a comprehensive product array, supported by powerful technology and delivered by an experienced group of professionals. Investment Risk and Analytical Services (IRAS) teams are organized regionally to support the corporate client’s base throughout the globe.

IRAS has 4 major product offering, below details and you are being evaluated for any one of the products.

Performance

Clients are provided with independently computed, thoroughly reviewed performance returns (ex-post) and attribution analysis

Compliance

Clients are provided with post-trade compliance monitoring programme and helps exercise control over investments made by IM

Private monitor:

Clients are provided with comprehensive private equity fund tracking and analytics with help of vended application

Risk:

Clients are provided with risk analytics reports which help them assess their exposure to a wide range of risks parameters from an investment and regulatory perspective

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Capital market, financial markets, investment instruments, fixed income, Alternative asset, derivatives asset, portfolio management strategies and client reporting
• Must have good knowledge on applications like Bloomberg, EDM, PED, IIP, RADAR, CAR (Coding and proof pack) and PACE
• Working knowledge of Excel, MS Office suite. Ability to develop Excel macros will be added value
• A good team player – ability to work and adapt to small teams
• Ability to multitask and work with calm under crunch situations
• Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with related departments and client servicing teams
• Fundamentals and Industry certification in performance measurement – CFA, FRM and CIPM will be an added advantage

Principal Responsibilities

• Completion of final deliverables with 100% accuracy and timeliness
• Adherence to procedures and SLA’s
• Identifies and manages resolution of service delivery root causes
• Ability to manage spikes in volumes and also own and resolve complex queries and issues not only of self but also for the immediate sub process while ensuring same quality and timeliness
• Process expert having end to end knowledge of immediate process, upstream and downstream teams and all related applications
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all related departments and Middle Offices
• Review the work performed by other analysts
• Ability to train and mentor new hires on the process
• Pro-actively communicate the procedure updates to the team. Ensures that all DPADs/client profiles are kept up to date at all times
• Lead and implement process improvements

Qualification And Experience

• Commerce Graduate or MBA (Finance) with at least 2+ years of total experience in related industry (Finance, Capital Markets, Investment Management /Asset Servicing industry)
• Minimum 24+ months in current role (for internal applicants)
• Willing to work in night shift and flexible to work at different location of Northern trust
