Job summary

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) in Karnataka’s EMS cluster seeks an experienced Quality Assurance professional to lead in-process QC for semiconductor manufacturing. You will develop SPC, FMEA, MSA and 8D methodologies, monitor production, audit adherence to ISO 9001/IATF 16949, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.

With 5+ years in EMS quality control and a degree in electrical engineering or materials science, you will guide RD and production staff, ensuring

Qualifications

  • Masters/Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in quality control tools: SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, 7QC tools.
  • At least 5 years of relevant EMS industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (JMP/Minitab).
  • Deep knowledge of IC packaging processes and PCBA.
  • Quality certifications (e.g., Six Sigma) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process quality control inspections at semiconductor production stages.
  • Develop and implement QC procedures to identify defects and deviations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues promptly.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and root cause analysis to spot trends.
  • Monitor production processes for compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Maintain documentation for QC procedures and inspection results.
  • Provide real-time feedback to production and support continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to QC protocols.
  • Train production staff on QC procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with R&D to integrate QC measures into new products.

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building Indias first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with production teams to provide real-time feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with RD teams to integrate quality control measures into new product development.
Qualifications:
  • Masters/bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Need hands on experience in quality control tools (SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, 7QC tools).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in EMS industry
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (ISO 9001/IATF 16949).
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and techniques (JMP/Minitab).
  • In-depth knowledge of IC Packaging processes and PCBA.
  • Quality control certifications (e.g., Six Sigma) are a plus.
