SA Global Advisors invites a Technology & AI Investment Banking Research Intern to assist in M&A scouting, sector mapping and company profiling across AI, Data Analytics, B2B SaaS and IT services.

The role emphasizes structured secondary research, analysis from multiple sources and turning findings into actionable insights for origination efforts. The internship spans at least 6 months with potential for full-time placement based on performance.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 6 months to 2 years experience in investment sourcing, scouting, venture capital, startup ecosystems, investment banking, corporate development, business development, partnerships, consulting or related roles.
• MBA finance, CA Finalists, CFA L2 cleared candidates or Engineering graduates with relevant experience as mentioned above
• Familiarity with tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo.io, Crunchbase, Tracxn, PitchBook and other company intelligence or prospecting platforms is preferred
• Exposure to technology sectors such as AI, Data Analytics, B2B SaaS, Cloud, Cybersecurity, FinTech, Digital Transformation or IT Services would be a plus.
• Must have strong inner drive and self-discipline, proficiency in MS Excel
• Fluent written and spoken English and overall strong communication and communication skills

Aufgaben

• Conduct M&A scouting and sector research across assigned Technology sectors, including AI ecosystem and AI-enabled technology businesses, to identify companies that fit specific acquisition, investment or strategic criteria.
• Build and maintain sector maps and company databases, covering relevant technology companies, business models, capabilities, geographies, scale, ownership, vertical focus and other relevant parameters.
• Identify and qualify potential M&A opportunities through extensive secondary research, using defined screening criteria to assess company relevance and strategic fit.
• Research technology companies in depth and develop concise company profiles covering business model, service / product offerings, end-market exposure, geographic presence, scale, ownership and other relevant business characteristics.
• Track emerging technology sectors, AI developments, business models and industry trends to identify new areas of M&A activity and potential acquisition themes.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis, including identifying key players, market segments, consolidation trends, capability clusters and relevant strategic themes.
• Develop and maintain market intelligence repositories, ensuring company and sector information is accurate, structured and regularly updated.
• Use public and proprietary databases and information sources to identify companies and validate relevant business information.
• Support preparation of M&A scouting outputs, including sector maps, company lists, screening analyses, market intelligence and internal research materials for the Investment Banking team.
• Maintain high-quality research documentation and trackers, ensuring consistency and accuracy across company-level and sector-level information.

Investment Banking Research Intern – Technology & AI

We are looking for a highly curious and research-oriented individual with a strong interest in Technology businesses, M&A and Investment Banking. The role will focus primarily on M&A scouting, sector research, market mapping and identification of potential acquisition and investment opportunities across a broad range of Technology sectors, including AI ecosystem and AI-enabled technology businesses, Data & Analytics, Cloud, IT Services, Digital Engineering, B2B SaaS, FinTech and other emerging technology segments.

The individual will work closely with the Investment Banking team to research and map technology markets, identify relevant companies based on defined investment and acquisition criteria, build company profiles and develop sector intelligence to support M&A origination and business development initiatives. The internship will be for a minimum duration of 6 months, with the possibility of a full-time opportunity based on performance and business requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and a genuine curiosity about technology businesses and evolving business models. The ability to conduct structured secondary research, analyse information from multiple sources and translate findings into actionable insights will be highly valued.

Job Description

• Conduct M&A scouting and sector research across assigned Technology sectors, including AI ecosystem and AI-enabled technology businesses, to identify companies that fit specific acquisition, investment or strategic criteria.
• Build and maintain sector maps and company databases, covering relevant technology companies, business models, capabilities, geographies, scale, ownership, vertical focus and other relevant parameters.
• Identify and qualify potential M&A opportunities through extensive secondary research, using defined screening criteria to assess company relevance and strategic fit.
• Research technology companies in depth and develop concise company profiles covering business model, service / product offerings, end-market exposure, geographic presence, scale, ownership and other relevant business characteristics.

Key Requirements:

• An individual with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain good judgment in a fast-paced, startup like environment
• Minimum relevant experience of 6 months to 2 years in investment sourcing, scouting, venture capital, startup ecosystems, investment banking, corporate development, business development, partnerships, consulting or related roles. Prior experience engaging with founders, technology companies or investment stakeholders will be an advantage
• Educational background: MBA finance, CA Finalists, CFA L2 cleared candidates or Engineering graduates with relevant experience as mentioned above
