Job summary

Citi is seeking a Vice President, Internal Consulting Senior Manager, hybrid in Mumbai, India. You will lead multi-program portfolios, guide strategy, and ensure alignment with Citi’s business objectives. You will oversee planning, risk, governance, and stakeholder engagement across global teams.

The role requires strong consulting experience, leadership, and the ability to influence cross-functionally, with a focus on delivering end-to-end program outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running a program or portfolio of programs.
• Apply in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the subfunction and coordinate objectives.
• Assess creation and signoff of program plan and charter, benefits management plan, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and log.
• Oversee program plans to meet business needs as described in initiation documents.
• Identify and include stakeholders in scope definition activities and understand the program schedule and milestones.
• Work with Program Sponsor to ensure the business case cost-benefit analysis aligns with objectives.
• Ensure all areas of the program are appropriately staffed.
• Monitor program commitments from resource assignments.
• Escalate program risks to leadership when appropriate.
• Create the program risk management plan.
• Collaborate with procurement to manage contracts.
• Recommend training and development for personnel.
• Evaluate subordinates' performance and advise on pay increases or promotions.
• Direct area with responsibility for end results and budget management; responsible for resource planning.
• Ensure procedures are followed and contribute to standards definition.
• Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citi’s reputation and assets.

The Internal Consulting Senior Manager is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

In this role, you are expected to:

• Support planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running a program or portfolio of programs.
• Apply in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the subfunction as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function; and require basic commercial awareness.
• Assess creation and signoff of program plan and charter, benefits management plan, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and central program issue log.
• Oversee program plans meet business needs as described in the program initiation documents.
• Ensure all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities and understand the program schedule and key milestones.
• Work with Program Sponsor to ensure business case cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.
• Ensure all areas of the program are appropriately staffed.
• Monitor program commitment from those assigning resources.
• Escalate program risks to the Program Director, or Program Sponsor, when appropriate.
• Create the program risk management plan.
• Work with procurement team to create, administer, track, and eventually close program contracts.
• Make recommendations for training and development needs for assigned personnel.
• Evaluate subordinates' performance and make recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions.
• Direct area supported through responsibility for delivery of end results and shared responsibility for budget management; accountable for resource planning.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• 6-10 years of management consulting experience
• Negotiate skills with external parties.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially master's degree
