Job summary

ALTEN is hiring a Design Engineer for an OEM client in Chennai. The candidate should have a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical with 5-11 years of experience in interior components and part design, and be proficient in CATIA V5.

The role involves developing CAD designs, applying GD&T, and performing packaging studies from concept to final design, with a focus on timely delivery and CAD quality standards. This is an on-site opportunity in Chennai with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–11 years of design engineering experience.
• Experience with interior components and new part design.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior commodities like IP/CNSL, air vents, ducts, pillar and door trims from concept to final design.
• Create CAD designs in CATIA based on engineering direction.
• Perform packaging studies and master section creation.
• Apply GD&T to completed designs and ensure CAD quality meets standards.
• Engage in digital pre-assembly and ensure timely delivery.

Mode of Interview: F2F

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience on commodities development (for e.g. Interior components like IP&CNSL, Air vents, Ducts, Pillar Trims, Door Trims) new part design, on-going product development changes; digital pre-assembly
• Hands on experience in Catia V5 (Part/surface/drawing).
• Extensive experience in developing CAD designs in CATIA, based on engineering direction for commodities
• Sound knowledge in packaging study and master section creation. Design and development of Interior Trims from concept to final design as per the design requirements within the timeline.
• Applying GD&T for completed designs.
• Ensuring the quality of CAD meets CAD Design standards.
