Job summary

Hind Hardware in Chennai is seeking an Interior Designer to design steel modular kitchens and wardrobes, engage with homeowners and architects, and drive showroom operations.

You will convert referrals into orders, take site measurements, prepare 2D/3D designs and quotations, and coordinate timelines with the Modula team while maintaining a high level of client service.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Interior Design (B.Des / B.Sc / Diploma).
• 2–5 years' experience in modular kitchens, interiors or an architect's firm.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, AutoCAD or kitchen design software.
• Strong sales and client-handling skills.
• Fluent in Tamil and English.
• Comfortable with site visits and flexible on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Design steel modular kitchens and wardrobes for clients.
• Take site measurements and create 2D/3D designs using Modula, SketchUp or similar.
• Prepare quotations and BOQs and revise designs until sign-off.
• Coordinate with Modula team on orders, production and delivery timelines.

Job Title: Interior Designer, Modular Steel Kitchens

Location: Adyar, Chennai · Full-time

About the role

You'll run our Modula - A JSW Enterprise Experience Centre end-to-end. That means designing steel modular kitchens and wardrobes for clients, converting walk-ins and architect referrals into orders and keeping the showroom running smoothly.

Design responsibilities

• Consult with homeowners, architects and builders to understand layout, usage and budget
• Take site measurements and prepare 2D/3D kitchen and wardrobe designs using Modula's design tools, SketchUp or similar
• Recommend modules and finishes from the Modula range
• Prepare quotations and BOQs and revise designs until the client signs off
• Coordinate with the Modula team on order placement, production and delivery timelines
• Supervise installation and handle snag lists until handover

Store management responsibilities

• Manage the showroom: display upkeep, cleanliness, opening and closing
• Greet walk-ins, give product demos and explain the benefits of steel over wood/ply (termite-proof, waterproof, durability)
• Track leads, follow-ups and conversions in a CRM or register
• Manage samples, catalogue stock and display inventory
• Collect advances and payments as per company process
• Support marketing: showroom events, social media content, architect meets

Architect and trade relations

• Build relationships with local architects, interior firms and builders
• Host architect visits and product presentations at the store
• Maintain a referral pipeline and track architect-sourced business

Requirements
