GoodSpace AI is seeking an experienced Designer/Architect to lead interior design projects of varying sizes. You will translate client needs into practical, visually appealing spaces, coordinating with stakeholders from concept to execution.

The role involves developing concepts, producing drawings, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring design specifications are met through construction. On-site work is required in Mumbai.

Job description

The incumbent Designer/Architect is an essential part of our team, responsible for designing and executing interior design projects of varying sizes and categories. The role involves dealing with design from conceptual development and liaising with stakeholders to managing and executing the design. The goal is to design practical spaces that are visually pleasing, following relevant administrative processes for execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Working to a brief which details the space utilization.
• Develop the design details based on the concept shared by the Senior Architect.
• Inspect and generate relevant survey drawings.
• Interpret and translate customer needs into preliminary layouts that also include electrical / false ceiling layouts.
• Reviewing construction documents to ensure that specifications meet design requirements.
• Research and suggest on materials and the subsequent products sourcing. Also oversee the timely delivery and installation of the same.
• Produce “sample” and “mood products” as and when needed.
• Supervise work progress by coordinating with the site supervisor and the head contractors, to ensure that construction meets design specifications.
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices
• Thinking creatively and critically to support the project team in the design process, to create sketches and drawings that work.
• Exhaustively reviewing and checking sketches and drawings for errors, before being sent to the senior architect, before releasing the drawings to the subcontractors, Site manager, etc.
• Checking material requirements from site, place an order and follow-up of the timely delivery of the same.
• Maintaining the minutes of the meeting for client interaction, irrespective of attendance or not. To take the notes from the attendee.
• Maintaining a registry of the order list, checking them against challan and final bill checking of vendors and contractors.
• Support the Senior Management team in producing detailed project timelines with internal milestones. Provide regular and timely updates and progress reports to the Directors and/or Associates.

Requirements

• Being Creative, imaginative, Innovative and eye for design details.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp (Photoshop and Vray knowledge a must)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
• Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication skills; listening, comprehension, and feedback. Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Location & Work Mode

The candidate must be based in or in close proximity to the office location in the Central suburbs of Mumbai. The position requires onsite work.
