Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an experienced Role Design - Specialist-Interior Design to oversee multiple interior projects from concept to execution at the Corporate Office in Mumbai. You will ensure high-quality design deliverables are produced on time, with value engineering and strict adherence to project time and cost constraints.

You will review design philosophies, set standards, mentor teams, and coordinate with Marketing/Sales and Execution to drive project success across the portfolio.

• Must have strong interior design skills and value engineering focus.
• Ability to review and approve concept designs and design philosophies.
• Set and monitor design standards, quality benchmarks, and process consistency.
• Mentor, guide and performance-manage design teams across projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and design direction across multiple projects.
• Review and approve concept designs, presentations, and design philosophies before client/senior management.
• Set and monitor design standards, quality benchmarks, and process consistency across all projects.
• Mentor, guide, and performance-manage teams, building design talent and capability.
• Oversee project briefs, area statements, and design budgets ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Review BOQs for accuracy, cost optimization, and design intent before final sign-off.
• Establish a structured review mechanism across drawings, site progress, and design deviations.
• Drive coordination between Design, Marketing/Sales, and Execution teams for the portfolio.
• Periodically visit critical sites to assess design execution quality and resolve issues.
• Drive standardization of layout drawings, detailing, and documentation protocols.
• Ensure strong working knowledge of MEP/HVAC integration at a design-coordination level.
• Liaise with leadership to align design strategy with budgets and timelines.
• Drive process improvements and vendor/consultant empanelment in interior design.

Role Objective:

Analyze Interior designs with significant value engineering, and ensure that high quality design deliverables are delivered to the execution team in a timely manner, enabling the completion of projects as per the projected time and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and design direction across multiple projects.
• Review and approve concept designs, presentations, and design philosophies before they are taken to clients or senior management/leadership.
• Set and monitor design standards, quality benchmarks, and process consistency across all projects under the portfolio.
• Mentor, guide, and performance-manage teams, building design talent and capability across the function.
• Oversee project briefs, area statements, and design budgets across the portfolio to ensure alignment with overall business and commercial objectives.
• Review BOQs for accuracy, cost optimization, and design intent before final sign-off.
• Establish a structured review mechanism (drawings, site progress, design deviations) across projects and track overall project timelines and possession dates across the portfolio, flagging risks and resource bottlenecks to leadership.
• Drive coordination between Design, Marketing/Sales, and Execution teams for the portfolio.
• Periodically visit critical/flagship sites to assess design execution quality and resolve escalated design-related issues.
• Drive standardization of layout drawings, detailing practices, and documentation protocols across all projects.
• Ensure strong working knowledge of MEP/HVAC integration at a design-coordination level.
• Liaise with senior management/leadership to align design strategy with overall business goals, budgets, and timelines.
• Drive process improvements, vendor/consultant empanelment frameworks, and design innovation initiatives across the interior design function.
