The role focuses on establishing and running engineering Cockpit (IP & Console) systems meetings, progressing design maturity, and aligning teams to meet vehicle program targets with ISO & JLR quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Establish, plan and run the engineering Cockpit (IP & Console) system meetings to ensure cross functional input.
• Ensure progression of design quality maturity from concept to final engineering sign-off (FESO).
• Establish teamwork plan aligned to vehicle program.
• Define engineering targets to meet function, quality and attribute requirements for the Vehicle Program.
• Develop and maintain the design validation plan (DVP) including in-house and supplier testing; ensure signoff tests are completed on schedule.
• Develop System Design Specifications with engineering standards, test procedures and material specs.
• Lead Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA and DFA/DFM reviews.
• Ensure documentation meets ISO & JLR quality standards.
• Lead resolution of design/attribute/packing issues through cross-functional meetings.
• Manage Suppliers to ensure system delivery to timing and targets.
• Support Sourcing and RFQ activities with ESOWs, PDSs and ESIs.
• Support vehicle launches and pre-production builds (virtual and physical).
• Apply APQP to manage system delivery.
• Ensure delivery of PSW from project start to sign-off.
• Follow and deliver company goals and strategies.
• Ensure systems meet DVA, Optical and Perceived Quality targets.

• Ensure progression of design quality maturity from initial concept through to final engineering sign-Off (FESO).
• Establishing and maintain the teamwork plan aligned to vehicle program.

• Develop and maintain the design validation plan (DVP) including both in-house and supplier testing plan and ensure development signoff tests are completed on schedule.

• Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities including the creation of ESOWs, PDSs and ESIs.
• Support vehicles launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical).
• Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system/component delivery.
• Ensure delivery of PSW, through planning from project start to sign off.
• Follow and deliver company goals and strategies.
