Job summary

Aavishkaar Capital invites experienced professionals to join its investment team as an Associate, working closely with senior colleagues to identify opportunities and manage investments with social impact and financial returns.

You will engage in rigorous research, financial modelling and portfolio monitoring while contributing to internal initiatives and deal flow summaries. This role offers exposure to a premier impact-focused VC fund in India.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in financial services (IB, consulting, research, investing) with a postgraduate degree.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills (DCF, multiples).
• Familiarity with FDI, SEBI, RBI regulations is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Research: Identifying and analysing emerging technologies, sectors and themes.
• Investment and Portfolio Management: Sourcing, deal execution, portfolio management and exits; ownership of deal collaterals with MIS analysis, financial model and KPIs.
• Corporate Development: Maintaining sector/deal flow databases, fund presentations and portfolio reporting.
• Support senior team members in ancillary tasks as required.

About the Opportunity:

It is an opportunity for passionate, talented candidates to work with and learn from India’s premier impact focused venture capital fund. An Associate would work closely with the investment team at Aavishkaar Capital and get high quality exposure to the inside workings of a VC fund focused on delivering high impact along with returns.

Key Responsibilities:

• – Research: Identifying and analysing emerging technologies, sectors and themes
• – Investment and Portfolio Management: Working with the investment team in the entire investment life cycle of sourcing, deal execution, portfolio management and exits. Ownership of the deal collaterals, with complete grip on business model, including MIS analysis, financial model and other KPIs
• – Corporate Development: Associates will also be responsible for internal initiatives such as maintaining sector and deal flow databases, fund presentations and portfolio reporting
• – Other: Support senior team members in any other ancillary tasks from time to time, as required

Experience Requirements:

• – 4-5 years of experience in the financial services domain (Investment Banking, Consulting, Research, Investing, banking) and with a post-graduate degree in business, economics, commerce, finance or any other related discipline from a premier institution
• – Excellent business writing and analytical skills. Proficiency in modelling Company financials and performing valuation analysis
• – Knowledge of valuation techniques (DCF, Precedent Transaction Multiples, Public Market Multiples)
• – Knowledge of relevant regulations (FDI, SEBI, RBI etc), term sheets and shareholder agreements is a plus
• – Proficient with MS word, excel and power point
• – Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality
• – Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• – Ability to multi-task and work with multiple team members
• – Willingness to travel extensively
