Job summary

Fluentgrid seeks an experienced Java integration specialist to design and develop REST/SOAP APIs and Java-based integration services using Spring Boot. You will build and maintain integrations across utility applications, focusing on API gateway security, authentication, and scalable patterns.

You will address synchronous and asynchronous messaging with RabbitMQ/Kafka, perform API testing with Postman, and ensure robust production support and incident handling.

Qualifications

• Design and develop REST/SOAP APIs and Java-based integration services using Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain integrations between utility applications and external systems.
• Work on API Gateway, authentication, authorization, request/response handling, error handling, and integration security.
• Analyze business and integration requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop reusable integration components and frameworks following enterprise integration standards.
• Handle synchronous and asynchronous integrations using messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ/Kafka.
• Perform API testing using Postman and validate payloads, headers, response codes, and business transactions.
• Troubleshoot integration failures, performance issues, data inconsistencies, and production incidents.
• Analyze application logs, database queries, API traces, and integration flows for root-cause analysis.
• Ensure secure integration using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, TLS, and other applicable mechanisms.
• Participate in requirement discussions, solution design, technical reviews, SIT/UAT, deployment, and production support.
• Coordinate with business, QA, architecture, infrastructure, and customer teams for integration-related activities.
• Prepare and maintain API specifications, interface documents, sequence diagrams, mapping documents, and technical documentation.
• Ensure coding standards, unit testing, code reviews, version control, and CI/CD practices are followed.

Job description

• Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and REST/SOAP web services.
• Good understanding of microservices and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with API Gateway technologies such as APIMAN, Kong, NGINX, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, SOAP, REST, cURL, HTTP status codes, and API payload structures.
• Experience with OAuth2, JWT, authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle/PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI, Docker, and deployment processes.
• Good understanding of logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Utility Domain Experience

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following utility systems will be preferred:

• Customer Information System (CIS), Billing and Revenue Management
• Meter Data Management (MDM)/AMI
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
• Outage Management System (OMS)
• Mobile Workforce Management (MWM)
• SCADA/SAP/ERP integration

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience

5+ years of relevant Java integration experience, with at least 23 years of experience working on enterprise application integrations. Prior experience in electricity/power utility projects will be strongly preferred.
